To make things interesting this year we are going to cover multiple trails over the course of 3 days across Southern Ontario. All trails are going to be rated 3 & 3+ based on OF4WD ratings.

The weekend is not stock friendly and not for a new to 4WD. You must have skid plates and 33"+ tires, front + rear recovery points and understand recovery techniques.

Alright we are 1 week away from the "Poor's Man Ultimate Adventure" aka "Yotas that Crawl 2021" :bananadance: presented by Slav Customs Co. and P-Fab Inc.:anonymous:

IMO this time of the year is better for wheeling - most of the bugs are gone, and water levels are usually at their lowest.

I'm wondering why more people are not in on this. But then again it's only April.

For me it'll depend on the status of my truck at the time. Might have 35s on but lacking the drivetrain/gearing/gusseting to push it. Who knows with the unpredictable supply chain.

I've done some of these trails already (Gooderham, Crystal Lake, Old Logging Trail), will an unlifted Sport (no locker) with 33" tires be okay on the other trails? I have skid plates and sliders. I only have the stock Off Road recovery hook on the front and a hitch shackle on the rear for recovery points. Although I've been winched out by the slider before.

I meet the minimum requirements, I guess the question is, are the minimum requirements just to prevent death, or should they be enough to get through without requiring major repairs? With the understanding that there is always the risk of damage etc no matter how capable your truck is.

For the most part being lifted, 33's and having skids will be fine.

I am going to put the trail descriptions from OF4WD below which may be helpful.

    Vennachar- 1+ out of 5
This hydro line runs from the Hydro dam at Mount Chute to the hamlet of Vennachar. The road is rough but very driveable. There are rock ridges and places to play just off the road. The Ottawa Valley Off-roaders (OVO) frequently use this hydro line for events such as the annual Spring Fever / Pj Party “Capture the Flag”.

    Crag Lake 3+
This trail has been used by OVO and Suzican for several years. EOTB began using the trail about 2006. The road down the power line to the Crag Lake turn-off is dusty, rough and lumpy. The trail crosses a beaver pond and climbs through the forest to reach a lake at the top of the hill. Skid plates recommended. Pin stripping expected due to vegetation growth. This trail has seen a lot of abuse lately, please STAY ON TRAIL. Normally we turnaround at the lake and exit via the entrance.
    Cautions
In 2010 we noticed there was a steel wire rope across the trail between 2 trees with a yellow marker on it. No signs. We moved the rope off to the side of the trail and it has not been put back.
    Trail Highlights
The lake makes a good lunch and swim spot (beware of leaches).
    User Groups
    ATV
    Terrain Type
Mix of Terrain, Moderate Off Camber (15-35 deg), Mud, Rock, Sand, Steep Rock, Tight Sections, Tree Cover, Water 15
    Truck Requirements
Front Tow Points, Rear Tow Points

Queen Lake trail (think its suppose to be Quinn.... @Norilsk is this a typo?) 3 out of 5
This very popular well-known trail has been used for many years by all kinds of groups. In 2008, tire manufacturer BF Goodrich awarded it the status of “Outstanding Trail”. The trail has seen a lot of wear and tear lately due to traffic. It is very rocky with rocky climbs and off-camber areas. In some areas even the bypasses can be challenging. This is a full day trail; We usually go in the “back door” (north entrance) which makes the trail more challenging and exit via the “front door” (south entrance) over bridge. This trail is only passable in a stock vehicle driven by an experienced driver. Skid plates highly recommended. Significant logging has decimated the "front door" part of the trail. Often go in the "back door", loop around to Pinion Pass and come back out the "back door".

Old Logging Trail- 2+ out of 5
Trail head starts off of the forest access road not too far from the end of the concession lake trail when running it North to South. Running parallel to the concession lake trail and meeting up with it about mid way, riders will experience some technical driving and low lying muddy areas. This trail is perfect for the new driver as it has a bit of everything. Trail ends at Bass Lake road where people can relax and get ready to drive on the road once again, Bass Lake road will lead the drivers back into Bobcaygeon.

Concession Lake- 3+ out of 5
One of Ontario’s most used trail, Concession Lake has it all. Used by many user groups this trail has a vast mix of rock and low lying areas with spectacular views. A camp / lunch spot is half way through the trail where riders can have a little rest and swim in the beautiful lake. Rocks are all over the trail allowing drivers to hone on their skills. Some rocky areas will put the vehicle in an off camber position of up to about 15 degrees.
    Chrystal Lake

    Gooderham- 3 out of 5
The Gooderham, named after the town this trail leads to, is an excellent beginner trail. Hard packed surfaces with some climbing and controlled descents allows drivers to hon in on skills while enjoying some great scenery as they pass by make lakes, marshes, streams and rivers. This trail crosses a few roads and other short trails which makes it easy to exit off if the day is running late.

Minden Hydro Line 2+ out of 5
Great beginner trail and stock 4X4 vehicle friendly. Excellent mix of rock, slight off camber areas and shallow water. Camp NL 101 runs from this location. Use discretion when entering and exiting the trial, home owners close by are not fans of the motor sports and have been trying to shut the area down. At the end of this trail turning south is QE2 park, this area is off limits, turn around head back the way you came.

I did all of them last year with a stock Jeep Gladiator Rubican, the only one that was a bit challenging was Concession Lake, but if I did it with a Jeep we will have no issue with Toyota's :)
