Hello. I am considering "going through the grief" of acquiring, installing, and learning how to use Techstream. Can anyone tell me, please, whether or not it would enable me to accomplish the following on my 2020 Tacoma:

    1) When I touch the passenger side front door handle, both passenger side doors (front and rear) unlock. When I do the same on the driver side, only the front door unlocks. Can I program the driver side to behave like the passenger side?

    2) When I crank the truck and leave it idling in park it will, after about 45 minutes, turn off. Can I make this time longer? Say 3 hours? Or forever?

Finally, when I look at the OBD port cables on Amazon I'm having trouble identifyinging one about which I can feel positive that it will work on my 2020 tacoma. Any recommendations would be great.

    Thank you!

    Go here ^

1 - check in the touch screen menu settings, sounds like the setting for all doors unlocked or driver door only unlock option
    2 - not certain
TS does lots of little settings, but only those parameters Toyota decided to let dealers tweak

In the FWIW department, the door open default is like that for security reasons.

The assumption is the driver may be traveling alone, and only having the DS door open prevents someone from jumping in with you from the other side. Like a mall lot jacking.

I find the setting annoying sometimes too. But I've not changed in on our RAV, because it's my wife's primary, and she's pretty unattentive to things going on around her. So I feel safer leaving it in this mode.

Yes, you can change the remote to open all doors.

How to is in the owners manual for my RAV, it might be there for your truck too.

Cool. I figured there was a good reason; now I know. I'll have a look in the manual. Thx, CB.

Just a tip. When you want to tag someone on this site, you do it like @Verticon

If I had not just happened to glance back at this thread, I would have never been aware of your response.

There are a couple of Techstream sharpies here. I think you'll find the consensus is it's most useful for diagnostic work, and ok for minor customizations.

@Clearwater Bill Thx. Let me try it. When making a reply, add @User and then that user will receive a notification, yes? The fact that you had already posted to the thread doesn't do it, right - you would've had to explicitly enable watch thread.

They should get notified also if you quote them.

FYI, I realized what you are asking about is listed in the manual under customizable features. There is column 3 for Dealers, that would be TS modification options, the 1, 2 are things you can do. Page 654

I got the door thing handled via the Vehicle customization section of the in dash display. Thanks @Clearwater Bill and @Gutentight
