Has anyone had success using a scan tool to bleed the 2nd gen ABS?

I have 2 scan tools that have the “ABS Bleed” function, but neither can bleed the Taco’s ABS.

Or does anyone have a way to get a copy of Techstream?

I just replaced my rear diff and had a line drain out overnight while my diff was getting worked on. I ended up with air in my ABS. I was able to get enough petal to make it stop even though it was spongy and felt like it was going through the floor. I bleed it really well then drove it locking up the brakes to cycle the ABS pump. I probably locked it up 10-15 times. The next time we bled (7-8 times) per corner it I started getting petal then eventually had a good blow of air. Not sure if it helps you but if you’re in a pinch right now you can get the petal back.

I’ve used the https://a.co/d/0vWr6iPscanner as well to bleed the ABS, but my buddy has it 80 miles away so I did what I did.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
You can get a Techstream interface with the latest versions on Amazon for about $35. I usually pick one up about every 6 months. You can’t update, they are bootleg, you get the version on the disk. However, they do work. Otherwise, bi-directional system like Autel, Snap-on, and pretty sure the Icon one can as well.

I’ve read some reviews that mention they found malware on the bootleg software. I’m hesitant to put it on any of my computers.

Depending on which setup you have this might be why you can't do it.
I know there's 2 different Brake booster setups, the regular vacuum pot style and the fancy new style with accumulator for VSC. On my truck 05 with the vacuum booster i know you can't bleed the brakes with Techstream or any compter, but have done it on a couple others with the VSC accumulator.

Vacuum booster, with the ABS(actuator) brick on the passenger side.

That’s good to know. I have the top setup. How can you bleed air through the ABS actuator if a Techstream can’t do it?

Power (normal and reverse) bleeding may be your best course of action. I've never had to or tried to specically bleed the ABS unit. Can you control"trigger" the solenoids of the ABS? do that when you bleed normally?

I have a power bleeder, but I don’t have any adapters that fit on this master cylinder. I need to look around and see if they make one.

They do make adapters or you can make one, which is what I did:

Or you can buy a BA10 adapter.
