Not so much. Yeah it takes a bit to spin the pulleys and rotors, but it’s not much and they have bypass valves. The intake air is routed around the rotors till vacuum is gone. Once vacuum disappears, the bypass valve closes, and it starts to send the air through the rotors and build boost. I get the same mpg I used to. Like 16 city. And depending on speed highway I get from 18-22. I did 70 all the way to GA and got 18 there. Back I did 60 and got 22.

Not enough to rob a few MPGs on a low displacement, high RPM 4 cylinder that isn’t in active boost.

    Not sure, didn’t ask.

Fml, at least I didn’t have the trailer or equipment on it.

My problem is I’m worried about weight with the 4cyl automatic. The Coopers are 58lbs a tire. I found these in 285/75r16 that are load range C, 53lbs a tire. Only a few reviews but all have been good.

I learned my lesson on cheap tires.

    Weight wise
    In a 285/70r17
Coopers lightest can be in the 42lb area
Duratrac I believe are like 49lbs?
Fierce attitude mt at 52lbs.. but real good reviews

I also found, on some forum a guy did a test with a 50lb tire and a 70 or 80lb tire. Acceleration wise is was 2 tenths of a second. Braking was a bit extra, mpg was like .2 I think off. I just gave up when I found out. Searched every tire possible

Customoffsets are the best place for sizes and weight

No way in hell .2 MPG difference. Maybe from 50 -> 70 lbs, but I went from P245/75/16 OEM Dungflops to P265/75/16 Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10s and lost 5 MPG off my average, and did so for the next 35k miles.

I went from stock size (265/70?/16) to 285/75/16 and lost about 3mpg on average, 57lb tires

No doubt, but almost doubling tire weight resulting in .2? Not buying that.

I get rolling resistance is less important than diameter but.. I’m not sure that is all that scientific of a result.

I can't find it but I think it was tire rack, a 35x12.5 with around 20lb difference didn't mess anything up that much. Except braking, that's why I gave up and just got the tires I trusted the most

Pirelli makes good tires. They come standard on some end end vehicles. I’ve not seen a 42lb 285/75r16. My current 31s weigh about that. Duratracs weigh 54lbs in that size. Coopers weigh 58lbs. The Pirelli MTR is the lightest I can find

    P rated at3, 285 on 17" wheel.

If you want light tires, 15s are where it's at

Manual transmission FTW!! Just redline it everywhere you go. Who cares about the tire weight.

    That’s sucks

Someone pulled an illegal u-turn in front of me earlier. Luckily it’s not hard to stop a 2,800 lb car quickly.
