No - I am not sick or a masochist... I do not really want to spand time on this topic!

But we've recently moved to NorCal and the old Tax firm we used basically has doubled their prices!

Time to move on! We are in need of a Tax person for tax filing and hopefully a bit of helpful insight on Taxes. Our situation is not very complex.

I can (and have been) googling ratings and such, but there is nothing like first hand, real-people, real world experience...

If you have any leads - please let me know!

    Cheers!

I used to use one and found that I was doing 90% of the work. Now I just use the online apps, use the little tips and tricks to maximize deductions that I learned from the accountant, and put the saved $300 towards good whiskey. If your situation is not very complex then I recommend doing it yourself. But that's just my opinion. YMMV :D

You have the best suggestion! - I agree. I am of the same inclination... The software is good these days and that is what they all use anyway!
I've done ours in the past, but I already do some family member's taxes and I get killed at tax time in this way... So I am looking for a bit of relief...

Ive been doing the online software thing for a while. I like it because my taxes vary in complexity - one year involves enough purchases to itemize plus realized investments, and the next might be an EZfile with standardized deduction. So I pay for the tier that I need at the time. Its easy.

I have been with Harrison Accounting Group Inc. for close to 20 years, awesome services and very nice folks. The owner,
William J Harrison, CPA runs a tight ship. Cannot recommend them enough.
