All of those parts from page 3 to 17, do you think that they replace all, or as needed and return unused parts to stock?
I was going to replace the lower ball joints as a preventative measure since, even if they were replaced, they would have 50K on them.

We would submit a case to Toyota for a certain vin. When approved there would be a list of parts listed for us to order to repair that truck. These parts were in kits not individual part numbers. Like one kit would contain all hardware required for that truck. Another would be all brake and fuel lines required. Even the frame itself was a special number. I think this way Toyota could keep prices lower than ordering each piece separately. Also if we needed lower control arms we could request these be added to the claim as bolts were always seized in the bushings. So there were never any wrong parts or left over parts. At least thats the way it worked in Canada and i would think US dealers would be similar.

I think the 60 page directions made clear that they come in kits.
I also believe that in that kit, it listed a whole slew of parts.
I was just curious if, when they got the packages, are they REQUIRED to use each and every part in that package, or if they are able to use their disgression on what needs to be used and what not, then throw the unused parts into their own stock (basically, free booty).
Example, they get all new brake lines from the anti-lock in the package, but can they say nah, these look fine, lets put those sweet brand new factory bent lines into stock.

    Just curious.

The factory control arms come with ball joints.

There is no way they used the old lower control arms because the cam bolts ALWAYS have to be cut out rendering them useless.

Weather those ball joints with 50k miles are warm out, that is another question that can be answered with a quick inspection.
