... is the reason why I recently peeled off a sticker that was on the marbled bath tub.

I agree with what you're saying and that's why I said if we want to be militant then we have to look at the other aspects that were there before the sticker was like the sign. Yes I could have gone all the way back to the first time someone broke a trail to that place but I really thought people would understand where I was going with it. I feel like the only true way to leave no trace is to just not go there really.

That being said I still wouldn't have left that sticker just because I think it's tacky to deface something without it being promoted to do so.

I read this whole thing. I dont think you are wrong, and I wont argue against your point even though personally I dont see it to be AS big of a deal as you do but we are all different, thats what drives us. We have all made mistakes before, everyone has and anyone who thinks they have never done ANYTHING that doesn't 100% follow tread lightly, that also drives off-road is lying, not only to us but to themselves. You can try your damnedest to leave 100% no trace but that will never ever happen. I try to learn from that as hopefully they will.

That all being said, I dont agree with how you defame Tembo for it. I understand they made an IG post about it yes but what if their IG is run by someone outside of the company as a lot are? Someone who knows the industry but doesn't off-road themselves and doesn't know much about TL or wouldn't think of it right off the bat like you might? If it it isn't run by someone outside you dont think they might have had a lapse in judgement? They are humans after all and every single person who is alive right now has had a lapse in judgement before. And in that lapse I am sure they did not think they were campaigning against TL like you seem to think they were. Their apology or changing of the post or whatever you want to call it seems good enough, they dont owe you anything at all, not even an apology. They changed their post to reflect that they made a mistake, which is what they did as, it was clearly not malicious. I dont think you are in anyway wrong for calling them out, I just think that re-posting it here and campaigning against them is a little pretentious. Your post is "Tembo Tusk Does Not Tread Lightly" well I dont see the company there? I do not see the Tembo Tusk rig out there with the company standing around the sign putting stickers on it. I see a man doing it and a company making a mistake in supporting it, which at another time, thinking clearly they might not have done. I can tell you however what I HAVE seen them do. I have seen them working with off-road organizations to keep the trails open. I have seen them organizing and participating in trail runs. And I have also seen them cook an ungodly amount of food on a skottle. I am not in any way, saying you are wrong for calling them out. I am not saying what they did was right. I am not saying that we should support or condone anything like that. What I am saying is to put Tembo Tusk on blast like that, is just plain silly (excuse my small and unintelligent word choice here).

I appreciate the advice, I am already over it honestly. I am already a yearly supporter of Tread Lightly, and just made a $25 donation to Tread Lightly this morning. I will continue to try and teach and guide people when I can and have been trying to become a Tread Trainer, just waiting for a class that I can attend.

It's all good man. It's all good.
If you become a trainer, I'll drive out east to take a class if/when you schedule it.

Its kinda weird to put it in your signature. unless you really want attention. I mean the dude put a sticker on top of a sticker on a man made sign in the middle of no where. I get making a thread but putting it in your signature.... idk man. seems kinda desperate for attention. I don't own a skottle and I don't plan on owning one and I would never have done this but you might need to take a chill pill and look at that video of trash In the ocean that went viral this weekend.
