Got the answer. Just fixed this a couple of weeks ago. Its your Electronic Coolant Sender. Mine was at the back of my engine dead center about 6 to 8 inches down. I accidentally unplugged it when I replaced my valve cover gaskets. My truck was also putting out a little more smoke with it disconnected. ECT Sender. I'd bet money on it. I've got the 3.4L v6 by the way. Oh and if I needs to be replaced It was about 28 bucks from Toyota. I had replaced the thermostat as well before fixing this problem.
