    I just went out and measured everything. It looks like it may be a little harder than I initially thought.

    Why don't you just find a cheap snap cover (Extang or eBay) that you can use when you need it. I had the cheapest Extang on my last truck for about 7 years and it never leaked. Install and removal of the rails only takes about 20-30 minutes after you know what you're doing, and storage of the cover and rails doesn't take up too much room since the cover rolls up.

    Cost would be around $200 +/- $20, which is a fair amount of money for occasional use, but might be worth it not to have to jack around with plastic bags, tarps, misc covers.

    Might even be able to find a used one on Craislist/eBay for cheaper.

    From what I can tell a brand new Extang Revolution is $400. I'm thinking of picking one up, or hunting for a used one, to use until I can find the camper shell I really want.
