Hey guys just thought I'd share my temporary fix for the cracked clutch pivot issue. In case anyone is googling and broken down, unable to get a tow, with a displeased wife in the passenger seat (Like I was).

    Related threads:

Disclaimer - this is definitely sketchy for many reasons, I wouldn't trust the body mount especially. But if you're out wheeling away from civilization it could be the best option.

Assuming that you're going to replace your bellhousing, clutch, clutch fork, slave cylinder etc.
    • You can wedge something under the clutch fork to hold the alignment enough for the clutch to engage.
    • Luckily I found a piece of a wooden furniture leg nearby. (Maybe a good thing to carry?)
    • The zip tie is the main thing holding it in place vertically which is wrapped around the brake line body mount
    • Bungee cords holding it in place in other directions, and I have one looped through the furniture leg in case it falls off, so I won't lose it.

    Ingenious Rd side fix!!!

tell your wife….she should be proud of you!

reminds me of a test drive I took with my Dad for my 1st car….from a dealership
I saved up $5k to put down
    87 200SX SE
On test drive, I was thrashing it
On sweeping turn, car shut down…wouldn’t start
Found battery was not mounted/tied down….cut a fusible link wire against p/s pulley
Dad said ‘look on ground for a wire’
Me being 18, (dumbass) said your crazy Dad….what are you going to do with trash on the road/shoulder?
    (He promptly smacked me)
    Then found a wire
HE spit on wire to clean and wrapped it around the cut wire
    We limped back to dealership
I bought the car with $500 discount after my Dad bitched out salesman about customer safety

    after car fixed
in true form, I got speeding ticket on the way home….1st trip I took
    Ugh

    Haha thank you!

Damn that's an awesome story, I thought I was lucky finding some scrap wood but wiring is pretty impressive.

Nice way to save $500 too.

I try to keep these stories in mind next time I break down, maybe the thing you need is just hanging out on the ground somewhere.

That's a bummer on the speeding ticket though. But driving a 200SX off the lot, that must have been pretty sweet eh
