Labor rate x numbers of hours to do the job. Probably isn’t a full bookrate for said job so it would be straight time. It wouldn’t be cheap

I was quoted $400 this morning to pull the dash. They tried spraying Ozium through the air intake but it didn’t work.

$400 isn’t bad. I would take the parts home, spray them down, hose them, then take them and fill up the tub with some Lysol or bleach and wash them that way. Then back outside to hose off and air dry and bake in the sun. Then take them back to the body shop to have them reinstall

Ive used Frigi Fresh in the past and it helped a lot. I've seen this and your supposed to have your truck running with the air on. Screenshot_20190725-140842_Amazon Shopping.jpg

It wouldn't hurt to rent an ozone generator and let it run all night in the truck. It worked for me.

Unfortunately I’m unable to at the moment. I’m getting over a fractured ankle and I’m walking with a cane. That’s why the mouse got in there I think, because my truck sat for two months not being driven. The guy at the body shop has a pretty good reputation, so hopefully he can fix it.

I brought my truck to the dealer this week for an oil change/rotation.

They recommended this service(sorry for the caps, it was a copy/paste from the estimate they sent me):

A/C EVAP CLEAN SVC ATTENTION SOON CUSTOMER REQUESTS THE A/C EVAPORATOR CLEANING SERVICE 207.92
CHECK THE A/C SYSTEM'S OPERATION AND THE BELTS, HOSES, AND CONNECTIONS. APPLY THE CLEANING SOLUTION FOAM TO REMOVE BACTERIA, MOLD, FUNGI, ECT. FROM THE EVAPORATOR CORE AND DUCT WORK

I wonder if this would help clean your system?

My issue probably involves at lot more than the evaporator. When I pulled the cabin filter, a bunch of torn up urine soaked foam fell out. I assume that’s the foam they use in the dash when they connect the ducting. The filter itself was still intact somehow.

The body shop pretty much disassembled the whole interior and washed all of the duct parts with Dawn and cleaned the intake under the cowl. The guy that did the work was a little frustrated because he said he think’s he can still smell it a little bit, but after driving it I think it’s actually the Ozium they sprayed through the system. I think when your brain gets conditioned to smell something, you’ll still think you’re smelling it even after it’s gone.

Try ozone treatment. Look online for a good ionizer.
I had my old Tacoma sit for a year with the slider open at my exs house while the divorce was being finalized.
It stunk so bad. I scrubbed the inside and let a good ionizer run for 2 days. The smell was gone.

An ozone generator (about 70 bucks off of Amazon) WILL neutralize nearly any odor. My daughter's Mazda had a clogged A/C drain and her car started smelling like mold and mildew. Ozone killed the smell and it never came back. I let it run about an hour in the car, then I start the car and run the A/C in recirc mode to let that ozone circulate through the system.
