I have a slight rattle on acceleration, it doesn’t sound very loud or violent if that makes sense? I was just wondering if anyone here as had a timing chain tensioner or guide go bad on 3.5 2GR-FKS engine in the Tacoma? I have no other symptoms other than the slight rattle, no misfires, starts and runs fine, idle is solid, no issues or odd sounds on start up hot or cold. I bought the truck used it’s got just shy of 80,000 miles on it. Coming from the 2.7, I’m fairly new to the 3.5. Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

I would vote spark knock over tensioner rattle.

As airforce2cc mentioned. Try higher grade fuel, see if that eliminates rattle. Also check for any loose heat shields, or parts.
