Tent in Roof not in bed? It's possible?

    Hello,

I lease a Tacoma TRD 2019 and just purchased a Tepui RTT and have a dirt bike.

Thinking if it's possible to install the RTT in the roof vs the bed? This way I could still use the bed of the truck for my bike instead of using a hitch carrier or trailer.

Other option would be to have a tall enough rack ladder where I can put the dirt bike underneath but I believe that it's fairly complex as the ladder will need to be over 30inc taller and inserting the bike while the tent is there would be challenging.

I have seen some roof racks but the max weight supported claimed it's 200lbs which is much lower than the weight of the RTT + people sleep on it, but I also saw very few pictures with RTT on roofs while most are in the bed.

I would truly appreciate your thoughts around it.

    Thank you!

IIRC either a topper, or a bed mounted frame work are required.

Yes it is possible. Check the dynamic vs static roof loads. The 200lbs limit might be the dynamic load. This isn't my truck but a friend sent me the photo of it.

A few guys put them on the cab at first then realize it sucks gas and is loud, and not the best place for it weight wise.
