Yeah RTTs are all the rage, but this tent stores easy, fits a double mattress and one big ass German Shephard with some additional room to spare, sets up easy, YOU CAN STAND UP IN IT, it's modular, get you're other camping buddies to get one and you can create a tent fort!

All for half the cost of an RTT.

 

Definitely looks like an awesome setup! How did you transport it? With it being 80" long packed up it wouldn't fit in the bed with the tailgate up on even long bed models.

 

I've gone through a couple of iterations. With carrying it. Mostly I had it just sticking off the back. Once the tailgate thickness is considered and everything it only overhung by about 10". My last trip I had the genius idea to put it on my rack diagonally and then the overhang issue was resolved. Wish I would have done that earlier.

Love the idea of these things, they've definitely piqued my interest although much more than I was hoping to spend on our next tent. I'm just not sure I have a solution for hauling it. I don't have a bed rack and getting one isn't a practical option for me with how I use the truck.

 

Let me know if you'd like to see how it fits in your bed. Id be happy to let you give it a test fit. I see you have a long bed so throwing it in and having it rest on the tailgate may not be too bad of an option.

 

If I remember correctly, long beds are about 84" diagonally.

Hmm, not ideal but maybe an option. I wish I had a better rack setup as that would be the best option.
