Anyone got a Tepui Foothill mounted in their short bed (low mount, not over cab, I've got a diamondback cover with shorty bars)? 7' long RTT, 5' bed. I have a XL Thule box that overhangs so I clearly don't mind looking like a jamoke, but wondering if anyone out there has this or similar setup and can warn me off/encourage the behavior. Thanks!

Not a short bed, but I put a foothill that I used to own on a long bed taco. Here's how much it hung past the bumper:

So, on a short bed the tent would stick out an additional 13" from what's pictured (total bumper overhang somewhere around 18" or so).

oh yeah, ok not great but not too bad. I already got an extendo for my bike rack hitch and I think it can clear that. Thanks for the pic!

I mean do what you want, but isn't the entire point of a short bed to have better angle of departure? Why would you lose that by extending your hitch by ~18"?

Tbh for me the point was easier city navigation, but if I was doing anything serious enough to worry about that I prob wouldn’t have my bike rack anyway.

Hey, thinking of doing this exact thing. That’s a lot of overhang, and looks like the bars aren’t centered front-to-back under the tent, too.
Did you stick with it? How’s it working out?
