I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I got 29.5" on center on my XL Ruggedized Opening on the side of the trailer.

Thanks guys, I'm kinda hoping the Autana isn't far off from those, I assume I should guestimate the XL will be closer to the same?

No I think you'll be closer to my Kukenam since they are essentially the same tent. Only difference in dimensions is the extended canopy on the Autana.

I might have an Autana show up in the next day or so. If it gets here in time I'll post up measurements so you have them for your rack build.

Also the rails run the length of the tent when mounting it off the side of the truck. So i wouldn't worry too much about the width of the rails unless your building a small rack and just want it to be the size of the rails.

Ever notice how people with expensive cars are very picky about the quality of the things they add to their cars? How bout this for a high end mod? Just sold this one a couple weeks ago to a customer in Texas. Pretty killer setup if you ask me.

I appreciate the help gentlemen  yea I'm planning on running a smaller rack, about 9" up from the bed rails. Was gunna angle the tubing in from the bedsides to match the width of the tent so I should be fine with the mounting rails

We have made it to The Grand Canyon and last night was our first night in my new Ruggedized XL. Man what a difference it is to camp in these tents. My wife said it didn't even feel like we were camping because it was so comfortable.

To say the least I am super happy with my purchase. And wanted to give a shout out to Adam for hooking me up. Seriously guys you can't go wrong with these tents, give Adam a DM and he will get you set up. Best customer service I've had in a while.

Now back to enjoying the outdoors!

When I get to build myself a fancy trailer one of these will definitely be on it!

i have maybe a few dumb question...
    1. do you have to have a roof or bed rack or straight onto roof?
    2. i have a diamondback cover, would that work as the bottom?
    3. do you dent your roof with the weight on the roof ?

Requires a roof rack or bed rack of some sort that can hold hundreds of lbs. Most RTTs can hold 600# or more of weight, plus they all weigh at least 100#. There is no direct roof mount option that wouldn't be a nightmare. Factory roof rails will work, but I'd be nervous. Best bet is a bed rack system.

You just need to install 2 parallel and elevated rails so that you can attach the RTT rail mounting hardware. I'd recommend a good 2-3" of clearance below the rails you mount, but if it's less clearance then you'll have to trim the length of the install bolts or get shorter ones from a hardware store.
