Great tent. Tepui has been great to deal with too.

One thing you should know is the ladder can rub along the base of the tent causing a great deal of wear in a short time. It's not a big deal to sort out. I added a couple of strips of this stuff called StarBoard (it's a Delrin like plastic) which solves the problem nicely for less than $20. I know that Tepui is looking into a way to resolve it as well (I sent them all the details plus some photos). As I say, really happy with how the tent performs and more importantly, about Tepui's service after the sale.

Yeah I was going to line it with weather stripping but your idea might be better.

Weather strip would work too. You might want to double layer it.

    Mine looks like this:

I could have done with about half the width too. Stuff cuts with a fine tooth skillsaw blade.

I would like to see/hear more about this trailer Jerry. Wasn't there a B.A.M.F. new products thread somewhere...? I don't want to crowd up this thread with non-tent related stuff.

All right, JLee. Count me as a maybe for the bedrack and Kukenam (sky or camo - still deciding) tent.
(and some bolt-on DCLB 2nd gen kick-up sliders)

But I'd really like to see one of those bed racks if you could direct me toward a pic :D

    Killing me!

I drove up from Austin TX to Anchorage AK last month for a good portion of the summer and had Evan at Tepui ship a tent to me picking it up on the way in Great Falls Montana.

Chose this tent with the vestibule included in the overall price. Love it for the huge extra room, weather protection, and access to the rear of the vehicle.

    Love the tent!

Have your LCR skid plates on my Tacoma, and looking forward to what you fab up for these tents.

I am currently carrying mine on the Thule Xsporter Pro Multi-Height Aluminum Truck Rack 500.

It works well allowing some versatility.

Looking forward to your product. Pics below.

They are all made in China. Prove me wrong fine, but I am very sure that is the case. Also coming out of the same factory in most cases.

The difference is the man on the ground over there for each company here, or else where (ARB).

I ran the warehouse for five years for Trek Bicycle in Whitewater WI (late 90s). We imported a lot of frames. The welds on those frames were only as good as the guys we hired over there to inspect them. Same thing with these RTTs.

Except in the design area and materials is were you see the other differences. Also what all is included in the price tag.

My Tepui Autana came with a fully enclosed vestibule. Its a hell of an addition when ARB charges the same price for their Simpson III minus the vestibule.

Google it up and read on.

This. As I've written elsewhere here, almost all the tents have the same feature set for a given footprint. They assemble more or less the same and use the same hardware.

Some of the subtle difference are the material thickness and color. And although Tepui has a telescoping ladder, I'm certain it won't be long before others do as well.

So it comes down to price and shipping.

FWIW, I looked at the Kukenam (Tepui), Mt. Bachelor (CVT) and Deluxe Roof Top (Howling Moon). The pricing was $959, $995, and $1719 respectively. All are essentially the same as far as construction, size, weight, and materials. For me, shipping was a deciding factor. I called Tepui to arrange to see the tent. They had stock, offered a cash discount and I left with an installed tent. As I've said before, Tepui in both Evan and Bernard were great to work with.
