I have a 2016 TRD 4WD sport and want to replace the junk factory tires but keep the stock rims. Torn between the Terra Grapplers and the Wild Peak. Recommendations? I rarely drive highways and mostly drive on secondary roads in the mountains of PA. I need something good in the snow and for taking off road hunting. Post some pics of your truck with the sport rims and tires.

I have a TRD Sport with Terra Grapplers... good in snow good off road. I'm in PA as well... a tad noisy at highway speed way way better than OEM.

If Your Not Dead Set On Either Of Those Look Into The cooper St Maxx. I Had Terra Grappler Prior To The St Maxx And I Think The St Maxx Perform Much Better.

Idk Why My Phone Is Capitalizing Everything , sorry

    Are ST Maxx winter rated?

I'd also like to know more about the St maxx tires performance in the snow. I live in WV and plan on running them year round if I can.

I didn't think they were winter rated, but people seem to say they are decent in snow.

Terra Grapplers get my vote. I've ran them the past 4 winters in South Western PA.

TGs have been great for me in the rain, street, sand and dirt, just waiting to try them in the snow. Highway noise hasn't been an issue for me and I have 12k miles on the current set.

It's not Sport wheels but the size is 265/70/17 on my truck with stock suspension.

Look them up but I'm pretty sure they are. They are studdable to. (is that a word) It's been a month since I've seen black top and the only time I'm in four wheel drive is when I'm pushing through fresh snow.

I have the Falken. It's a great tire, quieter than the factory tire and has great snow traction. I took them into some pretty muddy fields while hunting this fall. It performs well and is much less expensive than the other choices.

I second the duratracs. Just got the truck 2 days ago and had them put on duratracs right from the start.
Here's some pics of stock rim and stock height

I had falken wild peaks the ones that look like coopers at. They sucked on a full size truck as far as chipping and wearing out fast.

The cooper discover at on the other hand did great all around, I'd recommend them.

I had a set of Wildpeak AT3's on my FJ and they were phenomenal on all surfaces.

I got the new Falken Wildpeak AT3w 265/70/17 5000miles ago. I have been very happy with them so far. very quiet on the road, smooth riding. We havnt had much winter weather yet. Last week we had a few inches fall out of the blue and I never had to put in 4wd for anything. yesterday we had a really nasty ice storm overnight. I waited a while to go out but there was still ice on the roads some places and saw and heard some peoples tires spinning and I didnt have any slipping in 2wd. For the price they seem to be w inner in my book so far. I kinda cant wait for a real good snow to try them out to the limits

I have neither, but they have the three peak with snowflake on the sidewall. The insurance companies
consider them snow tires so I get a discount.
They work fine in the cold and snowy conditions that I have to deal with till April. But a lot of people on this forum
don't like the BF Goodrich KO2s.

Those Falkens look great. I started out with the Terra Grappler G2's and I thought they sucked balls. Terrible on wet road. Back end of the truck was all over. I'm now running the Cooper S/T Maxxx and love them. They are about 55lbs but look great, perform great in snow and rain/wet roads. I'll probably give the Falkens a try next. They weigh in at about 46lbs which is a great savings in weight.
