Personally I would stick with NGK or factory spark plugs. I have seen a fair share of problems arise from people using something other than those options.

Thanks for the opinion but I was recommended these plugs by I person I trust more than anyone so I will stick with them but as I said the e3 plugs have been great to this point!

Have them checked anyways. If they are already gunked up or worn, then go back to the factory stuff since it obviously isn't worth the extra coin. Just read a bunch of threads saying they aren't worth the hype.

Its probably just the cold weather and the crappy "winter blend" fuel that we get in the northern states. My truck's MPG's fluctuate in the summer and winter just as bad as what you're describing - I'll get 21/22 easy with highway driving in the summer and I've been averaging 16/17 this winter. When we had our subzero cold snap last month I got 11 mpg on one tank
My advise: wait a few more weeks when the gas stations will phase out the winter blend (I think its March 15th here), let the truck run all the way to empty and then run a tank or two to premium through. The MPG's will most likely bounce back

Damn, I am getting around that (16ish) right now with a bunch of extra weight on my truck. But I am pretty adamant about fuel injector cleaner use and air filter changes, along with all the other maintenance. Is your truck a 5 speed or auto?

It's a very cold winter all though mine is not that bad it's down at least 3-4 MPG from my usual 20 MPG and I don't weight my truck down. Warm up take much longer, idling engines to keep you warm, winter fuel, bad road conditions just about any thing that will kill your mileage has happen this winter. You can spend the money to replace a few trinkets but I doubt it will make much difference.

Ya it seems that what everyone thinks it is. I am going to take it anyways and have it checked out. Would rather be safe then sorry.
