    U don't need seafoam @31,000....

Do as several have suggested, fill it up to the top, drive, fill it up, divide the miles traveled since the fill up by the gallons needed for the complete fillup, maybe do it a couple of times, then report back...

You haven't even given it a chance yet...TBW, the way you drive these puppies if you want decent gas mileage is like you have an egg between foot and pedal, even two or three WOT's will affect the mileage significantly...

    Nice looking "Yota"..

If you're driving 65-70mph or faster you're going to get bad mileage. I do all highway driving around 15 miles to work everyday at around 75mph and my mileage is not good. And you can probably go another 40-50 miles after the gas light comes on too depending on how you drive it.

When you hit the brakes does the truck slow down? Do your brake lights come on? WOW.

How about buying a Honda Fit? Thought I was going to say "Prius". Just joking.

Look into the spark plugs. Talk to the place where you bought it from. It shouldn't be getting that bad of gas mileage for the actual amount of mileage is on the truck. Keep it below 97 km/h and under 2000 rpm, see what changes. Check your engine air filter.

Drive the truck a bit before you cry wolf.

You have a extended warranty and are still within the factory warranty as well. No reason to freak out.

I am guessing you will net 16-18 mpg in town driving this time of year. Currently it is winter formulated fuel in your area and it is likely 10% ethanol as well.

Factory MPG ratings are from ethanol free gas which is available still and ideal conditions (55mph)

Also if the truck had the ECM cleared due to a tech or battery disconnection at any point it would have lost the fuel trim memory. So you will have to drive it for a history to be learned.

Anything over 65mph will drop your mileage pretty quick. 55-60 is the sweet spot. Its a brick going down the road.

It could the fact like your PA in winter time, win gas kills mpgs. Next tank go to chevron or shell and put 93 in it. I know when I put 93 or 91 in my truck I get around 2 extra mpgs on the highway.

Damn lj973 beat me too it

and I have to ask what color (black or Yellow) are your trucks shock absorbers? I assume they are yellow? Just checking it off the list.

You should stop once it clicks anyways. If you over fill then your mileage isn't going to be totally accurate.

I realize all of the things everyone is saying, but I guess I'll have to try another tank once this ones empty. Seems Way to low.

This is why I got a Prerunner 2.7l. I'd love to have a 4wd, but i'd never need to engage it here in NC even in winter, and they cost wayyyy more, both the truck and insurance. I grew up driving 2wd's in the mountains of VA and never got stuck where I needed a tow other than once. that was on ice down a bank. Other than that i've always went 2wd 5-speed for their simplicity and good gas mileage. Plus I got too many other expenses/hobbies that impede me from buying a loaded 4x4. I definitely understand if you live in a place that you need it for survival, or you love crawling your taco, but this is just another reason we need turbo diesel tacomas! Gas is ass when it comes to heavier vehicles.

4WD is a necessity here. Or you ride the buss and live in town.

Lol I grew up over the hill from Boone, And Boone/Asheville always had like 12 inches of snow while the rest of the entire area had 3. So yeah it's like a canyon.

I have a 4x4, I average about 17mpg even with a 3" lift and Duratracs. I'd give it a couple of tanks before you freak out.
