Don't get me wrong, if it is snowing or your windows keep fogging up you have to leave your defroster on and running to keep your windshield clear. But if you just have frost on your windshield in the morning run the defroster long enough to clear the windshield then turn the heat on the floor. Some people turn their defroster on low in the fall and leave it that way until spring.

Cruise makes a huge differance , I plan on getting a scan gauge to when I have some extra cash . It realy helps make you more aware and mindful of your consumption .

My 2013 dbl 4.0 cab 4x4 was getting about 15-16 avg , now with 4k on it , bigger tires an alittle lift I'm getting about 17 , was actually 17.9 last tank but I think I must of done more highway driving then normal .

    Yup.

Every vehicle I've had that's been built since 1988 has done it except for my '94 Toyota pickup.

I've only had my truck for a short time but with the 6spd I'm getting about 17.4 average sometimes down to 15 with 4hi enabled; with suburban driving, stock SR5 package and 30-40 degree temps when I drive into work at night.

With my last vehicle an early model Audi A4 2.0 Turbo in the winter my MPG would routinely drop by ~15% (From 28 avg to 24 avg, commuting around town) when the winter blended gas and colder temps came around.

I have my motorcycle that gets 50-55mpg, when riding like I stole it, for the spring through fall though which pretty much offsets fuel for the three months that I'll drive the truck extensively in the winter.
