I was looking for a Limited before I purchased my Sport. Just 2 reasons really... All that CHROME(Near impossible to find Limited with Nightshade pkg) and the 18” wheels.

I noticed you said you have an RX350. My mom has one and honestly I hate the driving characteristics of it. But love my BMW X5. Price of a car really doesn’t have anything to do with how they drive. Some lean towards comfort, others towards sportiness and some towards just being functional.

That said, TRD Sport had a rougher ride than I wanted even at 17” but I looked up the stock TOYO A30 tires and apparently they’re shit. Another fun fact is the OEM Factory tires that come with new cars are not as good as the exact same ones you buy and install. I immediately took my truck to local shop to trade in the TOYO for credit towards new Michelin tires, slightly bigger. It helped ride a lot and the truck is overall comfortable now.

I think the SR, SR5 and Limited all use the same shocks and springs. Maybe its the Limiteds lower profile tires that may make it ride a little stiffer. I believe I read on here, the OR has the softest springs and shocks, followed by the SR, SR5 and Limited, and then the stiffest is the Sport.

Coming from two solid axle rigs (toyota truck & land cruiser), my Tacoma is smooth as silk. Even a little soft in the corners.

WTF do you want from a truck? Another Tacoma whiner.

It's almost as if they should let you test drive these trucks before you plunk down all that $$. I think the OR rides much nicer than the Limited, but it's all personal preference.

I've owned only trucks for the past 25 years and my 2016 SR5 is the nicest, smoothest ride ive ever owned.

Have you checked your tire pressure? Mine rode rough on bumps and dips and when I checked my tire pressure I found that whoever did the PDI inflated the tires to 40psi all around. I dropped them down to the 29psi my door placard specifies and it rides much nicer.

This happened with me as well. 21 OR, and the ride over bumps was jarring. 39psi in the stock tires. Dropped down to 31 and it is much better.

That said, still feel every bump in the road, but it's a bounce instead of a spinebuster. Other OR owners have similar ride experience?

My God it's a body on frame truck, everything you explained happens with every truck I've ever driven. Are you coming from a prius?

The Limiteds use different shocks than the SR/SR5s. They’re all made by Hitachi, but the Limited’s shock bodies are black (the SR/SR5’s are blue) and they have different part #s. I know this because I actually replaced my stock Bilstein OR rear shocks with new Limited shocks because they dampen road vibrations better IMO, and both the Limited shock bodies and the shafts are also noticeably thicker/stronger than the OR Bilsteins.

Lots may say it's a truck so suck it up but after buying my 2016 DCSB OR 4X4 MT6, I was truly shocked at how smooth and comfortable the ride was and have since added a Toytec Coilover lift and haven't loss that excellent ride. My truck rides way better then my wife's SE Camry with 17's and she's always comparing and saying why does your truck ride better then a car. I did switch wheels from the stock OR to a 17 x9 -12 265/70/17 KO2 setup and still rides great. The 18's might be hurting your ride quality along with the suspension you have. Get an OR suspension. $.02

My bad, must have been the Sports I was thinking of. The black Hitachis are definitely more robust than the OR Blisteins though. I was surprised how small the shock bodies and shafts of the OR shocks were when I replaced them. They seem like junk IMO.

I mean sure, it's so riddled with issues that you're going to want to park it in front of the dealership and light it on fire as some sort of protest, but the ride there is going to be amazing.

My parents had a Mark V. I snuck it out once and tried to park it at the mall. That's where I realized that 2-door continentals might look cool, but they're terrible in practice. You need a handicap bay just to open that bastard wide enough to extract yourself.
