Yes. I am running the OEM tires at 35-36 PSI. The OR eats up manholes nicely but it gets sloshy on the corners and loves to nosedive. I am moving to the actual 4600 setup when they become available again.

I don't understand this nosediving. My truck seems to corner very flat with the truck going perfectly level. You want to see body roll and nose diving, my old tundra would be flat out scary the way i easily zip through corners with this tacoma.

Terrible ride compared to what? Are you comparing it to other pickups?

I’ve never understood the frequent brake dive complaints either.

I'm curious if you have ever owned a Tacoma or similar truck. My first Toyota pickup was a 1985. My 2021 TRD OR rides like a Lexus compared to the 1985.

Not everyone who buys a Tacoma or any other truck wants it or needs it to go off road. Some people just want a truck to haul, the convenience of having the capability of carrying large store bought items and bringing it home without asking or paying someone else to do it. The fact that he bought a Limited pretty much says he went for luxury over getting dirty. I could be wrong on this but it sounds like he expected more for a High end Tacoma and I can't blame him. Some like it hard and dirty and some like it soft and clean, nothing wrong with either. $.02

A truck has stiff suspension because it’s intended use is to haul a heavy payload and/or tow a heavy trailer and generally just be durable and robust for doing work. It has little to do with driving off-road driving. On the contrary, an off road suspension tends to have a more supple suspension at the cost of lower payload capacity.

That was at least the original idea. Then in the 80’s or 90’s suburbanites started liking the image of a macho utilitarian truck but also wanted all the family comforts of a minivan and now we have the modern overly built and under used pickup truck.

I had to pick up 10 bags of concrete from the mall the other day, and I could not believe how smooth the drive home was. It rode like my old 4000lbs 1989 Supra that was smooth as butter.

I think you are going to have a good idea of the ride by the time you get out of the parking lot on a test drive in a Tacoma. I came from a Mazda3 known for having a great suspension to my OR. I had test driven an OR, a Sport, and a Ranger Lariat FX4. The I knew I wanted the OR from the beginning, but I was expecting the OR and the Sport to be more different than they did.

I just went from a 2016 SR5 to a 2020 OR. (from everything I’ve read, SR5‘s and limited‘s have the same shocks) I always knew the ride wasn’t great in the SR5 and my dad who drives Chevys said the same thing as well as my wife. Night and day difference between how smooth the OR takes little bumps on the road. I don’t notice ANY of the negative things that others mention about OR handling. You can likely pick up a set of new takeoff OR shocks from craigslist for super cheap. They’re less than $200 new.

For as expensive as they are, I really don’t see how they justify leaving out the upgraded suspension components on the limiteds. I can’t imagine the difference in cost would be much more than $50 for Toyota when they’re buying in bulk.

Don't about a lexus, but my truck rides more like the wife's prius.

I'd imagine most of the people who get worked up about it have never driven a vehicle with rear drums before.

The worst riding vehicle I ever had was a 21 speed with narrow 110 psi tires and a leather seat.

Even pebbles in the asphalt could be felt. RR tracks were a new experience for the family package.

Never had a problem with it nose-diving under hard braking, although the rear wheel would lift. The disc brakes were very effective.

Cornering was firm with a bit of speed dependent lean. Had to be wary of crosswalk paint, especially if wet.

Acceleration was a bit sluggish, but the power plant had limited power. Fuel mileage was unbelievable.

My point, you need to keep in mind the purpose of the vehicle and set your expectations to match.

I see this comment posted a lot and I strongly disagree with it. My buddy had a Colorado and it had a smoother ride then mine. Not sure how we stack up with the new ranger I haven’t had an opportunity to ride in one yet. I’m a Toyota guy so I would still my truck over either one and I’m not complaining about the ride it’s fine for me but a 3500 gmc Denali it is not. I just don’t think saying that’s how “trucks are” is all that accurate. That’s how tacos are is closer I think.

I just watched that commercial on YouTube. They advertised the Cordoba as "The Small Chrysler"
