    Sorry, can't resist the bashing....

    https://www.usnews.com/news/busines...-system-that-monitors-drivers-using-autopilot

:bananadead: Take your virtue-signalling over-priced earth-eater to the closest signal ....if you can find one that shows "you're important enough"

"The update was to be sent to certain affected vehicles on Tuesday, with the rest getting it later."
-ish... sometime... you know, when it's um time.... yeah

"A driver could be suspended from using Autosteer if they repeatedly fail "to demonstrate continuous and sustained driving responsibility" "

Still, people say no reason to be concerned that other entities monitor and can remotely change your outright-owned vehicle / activities?

Imagine a driving experience where your every commute to work/school/grocery store/etc is a live-stream for some call-center type building full of workers to monitor what you're doing while driving. No thanks.

<going for good natured banter here...>

What tinfoil? The part about being suspended from Autosteer is from Tesla and the article. Not really related to a law / enforcement code violation by actual LE witnessing your activities. You want a 'triple large Starbuck Shack Attack caffeine' "attendant" disabling features on your car on their last day?

Anyone outside of LE trying to enforce their brand of responsibilities on your vehicle should then be paying the insurance for you.

Yeah, wasn't an industry-wide remote killswitch talked about getting shoved in new stuff, like in two years or something? "Just for safety" first, then the drunks, then "no off roading for you".... No one ever abuses power, or injects their own ideologies, right? Slippery slope <CoC> moves go on with these types of things.

Have you spent any time in a Tesla? They’re pretty nice as well as quick. For a commuter vehicle it’s hard to beat.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveb...ident-rate-of-any-auto-brand/?sh=3e27290b2894

"Tesla drivers are the most accident-prone, according to a LendingTree analysis of 30 car brands. It found that Tesla drivers are involved in more accidents than drivers of any other brand. Tesla drivers had 23.54 accidents per 1,000 drivers. Ram (22.76) and Subaru (20.90) were the only other brands with more than 20 accidents per 1,000 drivers for every brand.

This was not a causal study; the study did not analyze the reason for an incident. But it comes amid news that Tesla recently recalled more than 2 million Tesla vehicles over a safety issue related to its Autopilot software — specifically, a feature called Autosteer, which is part of the driver-assistance system. The recall affects nearly all the cars Tesla has sold in the United States."

i wish more things got automatically removed from our privilage if we continue to act the fool using it. i tend to hardbrake and late brake..so my Tesla wont even entertain allowing me to autosteer. which is fine by me, since i like to randomly drift over the line all the time. i kid.

for the record, i see more people do stupid things with regular cars on a daily basis. some are human error, i am sure, but some is plain old garden variety stupid stuff.

So many people can’t even figure out their headlights are off at night…. Driving should only be allowed if you can parallel park, drive a stick shift, and back up with a trailer attached. Period.

I'm old enough to remember big block cars owned by teenagers. That said, I got my first ride in my brother's Tesla last week, and *holy shit* is that thing quick. The instant torque pinned me back in the seat, even if we were already at highway speeds.

Haha. In the last big wildfire. Gasoline went away. No juice at the stations plus they ran out. Nothing new.

And, there were many Teslas that burned in the fires because they weren't charged, nor could they be.
I'm sooo glad to be out of the Bay Area now...

Imagine pushing EV's because you hilariously think it saves the environment only to find out that the costs to simply manufacture the vehicle are MANY times worse than building, operating, and destroying at the end of it's long life the worst gas guzzling vehicle possible.

Nah. me saving my aluminum cans won't do shit to save the planet. neither will my EV.

it was not a motivating factor.
