Interesting. Don't know much about Saturn. Might look for a documentary or something about in on Youtube.

I googled gifs for the word "superlative" and was led to a site talking about a "conspiracy"- don't ask, it was political.

Thought "conspiracy" meshed nicely with your video narrator talking about the big 3 vehicle producers, so I used the (pretty cool) .gif...lol

Maybe so. Don't know much about that topic he was discussing. But the video had some interesting things to say on a technical level. The commentator seemed knowledgeable. Also, I think he captured the idea that Tesla seems to be designing from the ground up, and thinking of things from a different perspective, like to help solve the world's problems, while the big 3 seem to be doing the same old things as before, and maybe doing the greedy corporate culture type of behavior. Anyways, I'm not familiar with that commentator. First time I saw his video, seemed interesting. Sorry if any of it was misleading.

Great find. Shows us some clues of how weird and out of place it will look like if it was released to the public and roaming the streets. That doesn't look very weird at all. Looks like it could sort of be like the Hummer when it came out. I think this design might catch after all. Would be nice to see more pics like this from different angles and different scenes.

I'm more concerned about where to put the spare, winch, light bar, etc haha. And those aero covers on the wheels are worse every time I look at them.

I definitely like it. The 4x4 (or AWD?) option with the dual motor for $49,900 is definitely tempting considering the specs and price point. Some guys are paying that much for TRD Pro Tacomas/4Runners/Tundras

Heh. Not sure how effective dual range would be, no lockers persay, just 1/2/3 motors. I want to try crawling on electric, though. Guess the Wrangler PHEV folks will be the first ones on that one. Instant torque? Yes Pls.

Oh this is intresting. (ignore the people and such and focus on the truck)

Looks like fairly standard mild AT tires to me. And that lower bumper can easily be swapped.

The current Tesla battery pack is good for 300,000 to 500,000 miles. The next generation of batteries will be engineered for a 1 million mile lifespan.

We are very happy with the quality of the drive unit. We changed the goal of the drive unit endurance from being approximately 200,000 miles to being a million miles – just basically we want drive units that just never wear out. That’s our goal. I think we made really good progress in that direction. the drive unit that are going out now and for the last several months have been excellent.”

Now, Tesla released pictures of some Model 3 drive unit gears after testing:”

I was a Saturn employee. They were great to work for until GM platforming ruined their semi-reliable, oil-burning, fun machines by adding in Opels and Vauxhalls.
