People forget that the idea behind the Cybertruck wasn’t to make another boring “truck” as society see’s them. The Ford, Dodge, GM, Toyota, and even Rivian are using 20th century concepts. The idea that a pickup has to be this cookie cutter concept is something fabricated by the current Auto industry. The Rivian for example, while a damn sweet truck uses aluminum for body panels. Marketed toward the overlander/weekend warrior type but you’ll be crying like a baby when you scratch or damage a panel. Hell people cry about trail stripes on their $30k Tacoma, how about a $70k Rivian? While I was disappointed in the visual appearance of the Tesla, I appreciate the design and thought put into it. There will be many revisions and tweaks before production starts, and the market is moving toward EV’s.

That truck looks stealthy. Doubt if radar could pick it up.

I'd like EVs more if they didn't operate off of a tablet.

That’s a downside to me as well, I’d rather have a dash set up like the Rivian.

It looks like the capex wasn't there for the design team, so they dug Jaxon's truck drawing out of the trash after 7th grade let out for the year. It was Miss Kinny's class if I recall and she had a silver 1st gen Ridgeline with a Pepperdine license plate frame. It was Jaxon's first crush.

Rivian well that's just vaporware at this point. My concern is if they haven't launched by now are they going to launch an expensive vehicle when and if the economy goes to shit, which it will?

It's hideous, but no doubt, they will sell thousands of these between LAX and YVR. I can already hear the RTT's deploying...

Reminds me of the “trucks” I used to draw when I was 5. Hideous! But I reserved one.

Same, Tri-motor with FSD. hit refresh by accident and reserved 2... but canceled the later. Beauty of it is we have ~3 years to cancel if it doesn’t pan out or other options come to light that are “better”. My reservation numbers were several thousand apart so there are a lot of people claiming their spot. Reservation number RN112764068.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

    Lmfao..."Bullet proof"... ya, no.

14,000 pound towing capacity? Ya, ok... it's also supposed to have a 3500 pound payload... except that 1000 pound quad has it sitting on the bumpstops.

You’re 86k ahead of me. I reserved for the same reason basically. The design has a lot of time to change and be updated and improved in the next few years and if I don’t like what I see I’ll just cancel. If something goes wrong and I can’t get my money then I only lost about a week or so worth of good beer.

    Funny thing is

    Air bags... Ya, ok.

The body skins have been tested how, and by whom? You mean the dumb video Elon made?

    Really?

So, if we have the opinion that the truck is hideous, that the 14,000/3,500 claim is bogus (when we're looking at evidence of it in the pictures provided by Tesla). And we don't believe the fairytale the truck is bulletproof... especially when the shatterproof claim was proven to be bullshit, by Musk himself, during the reveal...

I guess we should just go ahead and keep that to ourself.

What evidence are you referring to? You literally are just running off your emotions with nothing constructive to add at all.
