They will get taxed to death and the cost will probably be similar to gas eventually. Only early adopters ever win. Similar to cable. Streaming and internet will just replace it and cost the same eventually. Just different players getting paid. Not to mention I doubt we have the electricity capacity to support it now anyway.

That's a NO for me.. And I don't trust Mr. Elon. He's an insider, he's there for a reason.

Looks like a Japanese robot minivan with a truck bed on the back... I wonder if you combine its powers with other colors, does it make a super robot that fights other giant robots ala Power Rangers?

Although, at second glance, everything from the middle to bottom looks decent :p

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
So long as Franz is director of design you won't see anything like that. The vehicles are designed with certain priorities in an order something like safety>efficiency/aerodynamics>looks.

Not quite sure I understand this line of logic. If an EV company put a fake grill on the front you would buy it because it looks "normal"? I'll give you the BMW i3 that looks like it belongs in Red Faction and the hatchback Prius' but I'm not sure what the difference in being "normal" is between a Model S, Camry, Taurus etc. other than different manufacturers.

At this point with the Prius being on the road in the US for 19 years in various iterations one could argue it is "normal", in fact next year a 2000 Prius could be considered a "classic".

Chop the bedside so the rails sit flat, and it would look like the sprintervan truck models all over europe.

A Model S does look more "normal" than a Model 3 or the upcoming Y. A sharp edge that drops off to a flat bumper fascia looks awful in my opinion. The S has a small grill shaped opening. I like the Model S, but the cost is not in the same ballpark as what I drive. Out of the question. Anyway, the grill thing is just an example of them not looking similar to what people are used to. I could be very wrong. And no I wouldn't buy one just because it has a fake grill, it was just an example of using obscure design language. I don't think it appeals to most people. In fact, there are obscure designs littering the graveyard of automotive history. Granted, without taking some chances, everything stays the same.

I'd agree with your point on the prius, however I've always found it atrocious. Its shape has not changed drastically, yet almost no other cars look like it. Why couldn't it look like a regular sedan? I would never buy a prius based on looks. I would, however buy a new Rav4 hybrid. Or camry hybrid.

Google "Toshiba SCiB battery". They're already in production on a smaller scale with a claimed 0-90% charge time in 6 minutes with very little heat generation. Also supposed to have increased charge cycle capacity over current lithium based batteries.

I only heard about it recently due to speculation over this EV concept appearing at the Geneva Auto Show

I mean you do with 2 NATO cans in the bed.. Which you definitely can't do in an EV.

Mine would JUST get me to 400 with 2 jerries in the back. Maybe 450.

But I would think that if EV trucks do become a thing, that there will be someone that will come along and make an electric "jerry can" like a big version of those little pack of gum size goalzero cellphone chargers.
