So the radio in my Tacoma is going a little funky now, the volume knob isnt really working and some of the buttons are dodgy. So I want to go for a full upgrade and I saw some guy put a Tesla style screen in his Silverado. Im wondering if there are any companies who make tesla style screens that repace the center stereo assembly along with A/C controls and whatnot.

    What is a Tesla Screen?

You can do anything with enough time and money.

Teslas have a rather large touch screen control panel on the dash. Looks like a big tablet

And then the air-conditioning would be controlled by the screen, too? Sounds like more trouble than it's worth...

I can only imagine the glare and smudges. Would be cool if someone got it going though.

I’d look into some of the iPad mini installs and see what it entails.

    I get a feeling OP isn’t married. :D
Other wise he’d know who controls the radio and AC.

    It’s not a Tesla Screen

    What he said!

Everyone said you couldnt put an aftermarket head unit in an RX Lexus... Took 3 months of trace wires and relocate shit and had to buy a new dash piece, cut it up reform it and put it back together to make it look oem. But I did it.

Your problem is the Tacoma A/C controls are physical knobs, not digital. So like if you wanted to make an app to control the temerature you would need some kind of dongle to connect the tablet to the A/C control board plug that could emulate the signal from the manual knobs. I am just guessing, but the app/dongle would probably have to be able to mimic the resistance of the knobs. Thats just a guess though. By all means i am not try to discourage you, i would love to see it and wish you the best of luck, i just dont think its possible without a huge investment. i'm thinking.... $15,000-$20,000... ?

....or, for well under $1k you can do what I did and replace the stock unit with a nice touch screen Kenwood unit which includes Apple car play (and Google equivalent), hands free calling, Bluetooth connection to multiple devices (I have both my work and personal phones connected). The head unit also plays DVD’s (which I’ve never done and actually just realized). My kids want to try watching a movie on our next ride to the ski mountain.

The head unit also plugs into the truck’s OBD port and provides info on engine performance, tire temp and pressure, etc.

My 2010 (so I assume your 2011) came with the steering wheel prewired for all the phone controls. All I had to do was buy and install the buttons.

Of all the improvements I’ve done to my Tacoma, this was by far the best. My radio’s features are very comparable to those in my wife’s 2021 Honda Pilot LE, so not bad in a 10 year old truck.

What do you plan to show double features? That thing is huge, why do we need to screens in our vehicles?

Don’t waste your money. These units are better applied to vehicles whose AC controls are integrated into OEM headunits and owners who have no other choice in order to retain integration.

Had one in my Lexus GX because it was the ONLY option for a new headunit short of a single din.

Phoenixautomotive sucks, rhino radios sucks, their customer service is zero. Good luck if you have an issue. People who buy them straight from China via alibaba have had better customer service.

That being said in a Tacoma you are better served integrating a android tablet tied in tandem to a quality din unit. Again do not waste your time on one of these. Clunky android crap, that when dialed in can function very well with factory amped sound systems but otherwise are garbage in a universal application for the price. Better off getting a nice alpine or Sony large touchscreen.

Phoenix is garbage; don’t send your money their way. Zero customer support. They just up charge for being a US based reseller. The product itself is a whole other can of worms.
