Nice thing is it has a gps section that shows what satellites it's picking up and how strong they are

So Eric sent me a video of how to change the gauges but its really just the style you cannot change them to another in your truck.

The Torque app has the ability to add tons of different gauges, but I don't think anyone is using/tested it on this thread.

I had considered it myself but had already bought the extra toyota pids on obd fusion for my iphone so didn't want to do that again. I don’t believe you can get free trans temp readings from these apps without the purchase of their higher programs but I could be wrong.

I'll do some testing in next few days on my tablet. I have a good odb reader and the torque pro app. Will see what guages are available with the truck. I mostly use it on my M3

Sounds great, post your findings would be nice to see what apps do what for people getting these units and wanting to read different gauges on the screen.

I did find this video showing how to connect the Torque app through ODB dongle wifi.

I believe what has been mentioned previously is that you can not have that and car play connected at the same time because only 1 wifi connection can be live at a time

I haven't been able to get my Android auto to work as I expect it should. I've never seen/used it before so I don't know what to expect, but I can't get contacts to sync or messages to display. Doesn't bother me, I don't really care

I use android auto for the car, it's basically just for Spotify and Google maps tho.

The unit already has those apps, so it becomes redundant imo

Honestly if this is an android Hu and I can download those apps on the unit, all you really need then is a mobile Hotspot for the Hu and everything else should work fine. Would like to hear some comparisons between just using the Android HU vs Android auto on this hu

I never had good success with keeping it tethered or wifi on android HU's. So I end up using carplay almost 100% of the time; unless stopped then ill use other apps. If we could keep it connected via LTE all the time its more of a pain to use the native apps. Same would apply to android auto

My hotspot so far seems to work great, so I just use the native apps without problem. The android auto google gps for some reason struggles with location but the regular app doesn't. I'm also surprised how little data it uses. I got 40gb/month and I've only used 2 so far

interesting. I've only ever used wired android auto so no idea how it functions wirelessly compared to carplay
