typically your sub amp only requires one RCA mono input via the left channel so there is no need to use a Y adapt

Thanks guys! That answered my question. Basically plug it in and it'll work.

Reading through as many pages as I can I still have a question. Does this unit support voice command?
Do you still use the stock microphone?

The microphone used is the units built in one not the stock microphone and as far as I can tell there is no voice command to this unit unless theres something I am missing.

Mine came with voice commands. You can say things like “play radio” or “next track”. There is an app with all the commands. Can’t think of the name right now but I can check when I get home.

Siri also works with carplay. You can use the home button or use “hey Siri” if it’s enabled on your phone.

Thanks I didn’t know that because there is no manual for the unit yet however I assume anyone using carplay would know about Siri. Eric says they are working on a manual and as soon as its ready he’ll email me a PDF of it.

The native app is Nexai voice. I don't use voice commands, can't say how good or bad it is

I just went and checked it out and It actually works pretty well if you remember specific voice commands for those functions or apps. I’ll be interested in learning more about it when I get my replacement unit.

So in between scrambled screens lol I got my GPS adapter and installed it. What a difference between the provided GPS antenna and my original shark fin. The one sent with the unit was only grabbing maybe 6 or 7 satellites verses my shark fin gets all of them, a huge difference in the way the navigation works.

Is anyone else's backup camera quality absolutely terrible after the switch?

What is all of them??? Seems as if best case scenario you should see 8 according to the interwebs.
“The GPS satellites are uniformly distributed in a total of six orbits such that there are four satellites per orbit. This number of satellites and spatial distribution of orbits insures that at least eight satellites can be simultaneously seen at any time from almost anywhere on Earth.”

Well when you go to user settings on the unit and then GPS their are 12 possible satellites to find. I was only getting at best at times 7 of those, now I am getting connected to all 12.

It is possible that with my unit having issues with the screen failing that I am getting a false reading for satellite connection too. Guess I’ll find out when my new one arrives.

So here is a pic of my current connection you can see a strong connection to 9 out of 12 and 2 are now out of range and 1 is simply being ignored as it is connected but grayed out9D7B2A83-1B3D-4E08-BB6F-84A6E56C87B5.jpg

I have been considering this unit for a while as well. Does it have XM/Sirius capabilities? Not that it really matters just trying to take in all of its features. And how do you know if your truck has the JVC amp etc.?

The xm sirius would be done through an app you would have to download, to see if you have the JBL look on your door speaker and see if it shows the JBL in the center or if you have the original head unit look for the JBL on the face of the unit.
