That is correct. The black plug is the xm antenna. The plugs don't exactly lock into place so just tape them together with electrical tape

 

Never heard back from aucar so I ordered the joying 9" instead. Will keep watching this thread for future updates. A shame they require otp text just to place an order and it doesn't even work

 

That should be what the original plug looks like in your truck that you unplugged from the back of the original head unit. It should be back in there somewhere and you’ll plug the skinny round metal end of the adapter into this and the other end that looks similar will go to the back of the stereo.

 

There is a setting to reverse the hot and cold.

if you go into the android Wi-Fi setting you can change Wi-Fi from 2.4g to 5g. I found this helps carplay connect and look a lot better.

 

sorry i’m an android-tard can you tell me how to get to that temp setting and the 5g setting. I’m in the menus and just not seeing it ?

 

Settings->install set->reserve ac controller. It’s normally off turn it on and it reverses the temp setting.

 

Where are you going to do this I can’t seem to find wifi settings

 

Settings->more settings->network and internet->hotspot and tethering->Wi-Fi hotspot->advanced->ap band.

it’s buried pretty deep.

Wow that made a big difference for me too. My messages are kind of showing up finally. My contacts still won't sync though

 

Your contacts won’t sync in carplay? Or the android phone app?

 

At all. Bluetooth calls are always unknown even if they're in my contacts

 

I never seen that with carplay. They don’t really sync in carplay they are just there.

 

i made the change, save - reboot and it is still backwards

 

a lot of the settings adjustments i am making are not sticking including the time display i keep changing it to my correct PST time and it jeeps jumping to EST

 

Did you adjust the time in the android settings?

 

yes, under date/time up above install set

 

If you go to more settings-system you need to adjust the time there. There are some videos on how to change it.

There are actually two sets of settings the original android and the aucar software. The time is one of the settings that you need to change both. If not they will conflict with each other.
