I think i would confirm that the mp3 player is up to date. I would then erase all BT settingson the headunit and start from scratch. And then try to configure the sandisk mp3 player as the 1st device.

I don't have any contact with Aucar nor did I have the headunit. Its just what I heard from one of the YouTubers I watch, but he hasn't posted any updates on it since.

I would simply email that company and see what they say it possibly might be the same harness but they would know better for a 2009

This is what I got from camera source

I don’t have an adapter of any type that would move it to an aftermarket radio. Your factory camera system is a 6 volt system and the aftermarket radio is a 12 volt system. You could swap out your factory camera with our CS-TACkit and that will plug directly into your aftermarket radio. It is a full harness kit that you would need to run the harness from the camera all the way up to the radio. I’ve attached a copy of the install instructions for your review.

I didnt change anything from 6 volts to 12 volts I simply used the harness and moved my camera from the mirror to the head unit and it worked for me without any other changes

    th
that seems way easier. there is a write up on how to do it on here somewhere as well. I tapped a couple wires and ran a cable since the plug on my 2013 was missing in order for the HU to work. Im all for less splicing of wires nowadays.

It should be not an issue if you have the right setup. The plug in that kit looks like the missing plug I added and that goes through the can bus module which should convert it.

this makes sense since the can bus or module they provide should handle all of that.

Should not the same thing work for 2009 as well then, unless the connectors are different and an issue.

good point 12-15 was different so that may require a different adapter. 12-13 was different from 14-15 but mainly missing connector and some wires. This seems to bridge it in the camera feed.

Somewhat off topic, but maybe you guys know the answer. My neighbor bought a "Tesla Style" head unit for his 2009 Lexus. We got it installed and working (at least we think it's all working) without any instruction manual, but with some WhatsApp help from a guy in China. The primary issue we had was getting the rear camera to work. This 2009 did not have a camera from the factory, but my neighbor had previously installing some type of bluetooth camera for rear view. With this new head unit the camera is hardwired.
Anyway there is this CVBS video input that we don't know what it's for. The guy in China was no help. Do any of you guys know what this CVBS stands for?
THIS is what he bought. I believe his is the TS5 model.

Hi there everyone and thank you for sharing your experiences and knowledge through this post. I recently purchased the Aucar head unit for my Tacoma 2015, and although I'm really impressed by it, there are still some issues that I'm having.

    1. Cool/Hot settings in the A/C are inverted. I managed to get my hands on an update that was supposed to fix it (I actually downloaded it here), but after installing it, I'm still having the issue.

    2. I purchased the adapter to use the shark fin antenna with the head unit, but the GPS just doesn't work right with it. I thought it was an issue with the unit itself, but it does work well with the antenna that the unit came with.

    3. I absolutely dislike the inability to hide/unhide the controls that take space on top and bottom sections of the screen. I have some apps that need those sections of the screen, and I can't access options that are hidden under those overlays if you will.

    4. I have been able to use Android Play with only one of the two usb ports.

    5. I wasn't able to make the factory USB port that came in my Tacoma to work with the head unit although I did appropriately connect the adapter that the manufacturer provided with the unit.

    6. I'm still undecided whether to install the update shared on post #438. I've read mixed comments on it so far. Plus, I don't know if the current FW installed in the head unit is older/newer than that one.

Other than this, the experience has been amazing, and I really look forward to learning more about this unit. Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, I love Alpine Tactics - but he hasn't posted an update in some time.

Back in May, Alpine Tactics said they would release new model (both hardware and software update) sometime in the summer.

On whatsapp, Aucar responded by saying it would be a new software update in 2-3 months (Android 9 to 11)

    This was back in May.

I made sure to ask if it was just a software update for the current model and they confirmed.

But apparently they told Alpine Tactics that it would be both hardware and software, hence a new model entirely.

On whatsapp they continue to say android 11 software update sometime around September.

    So who knows?

If my speaker say JBL, do I use the harness for amplifier? I don't have a separate line from the car for amp like the original poster did. One harness has more pins and the other has some removed. Please see the picture.
