Any of you old car audio nuts interested in an old refurbished amp? I have an older Orion XTR500, still have the manual too! I bought it second hand in like 2003 I think. Had a capacitor replaced at one point. $100 plus shipping

I was having a problem with the Play Store crashing every time I searched for or went into an app description, which rendered installation and updates useless. I could still install apks manually but most apps don't make them available. I think the issue was how far apart the installed version and "current" were. After trying all kinds of tricks, including a factory reset, clearing caches, etc, I was able to use an Update button in Google search (the Google app), which after updating let me use and update Play. Just FYI in case anyone runs into this.

I still haven't been able to update the system firmware from 202210xx to 202212xx (inserting multitudes of flash drives with the PX6-9.0-d.zip archive has no response, the System Updater app does nothing), but now I don't have a pressing need.

Do you have a GT6 Gen 2 model? If so the update should not be named PX6-9.0-d.zip. It should be named update_e.zip.

So I bought the gen 2 and installed it, everything works perfectly with two exceptions, voice quality on calls (i saw the posts) and my climate controls are greyed out. The fan is stuck on low and cant be changed, when I unplug the main climate control plug the fan shuts off but I cant figure anything else out. Any suggestions? Ive reached out to the company and am waiting back.

    Edit
Figured it out, the extra pigtail that came for the climate controls wasn't allowing it to fully seat. Going to ask for a new pigtail

Just got an update from from Eric

    For Gen2 GT6 Model
    Link to update
    https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZWBUxVZJR6FEG0t7YXxecJA85s9ljkhMidk

    I haven't tried this update yet but release notes from Eric;

Fixed the bug that a black screen may appear when starting, and then updated android auto to support some mobile phones to support wireless functions, and optimized the system.

I will add this to the main page.

I just messaged Eric to see if there are any updates for the older units. Not sure if there are any but we'll see.

Updates, if your trying to update to the latest firmware take a new thumb drive, format it and then insert it into the usb extension. I hooked up one of mine to the in dash one and the other to the glovebox and used the original in dash one. The radio will read the thumb drive and put in the directory it needs. Go back and put a single song in the music folder and then see if you can play it on the radio. If it works the thumb drive is compatible. Add the zip file to the top parent file where the folders are, It took a couple of try's as it kept stalling out at about 90% and giving me a error. simply factory reset the software with no blue tooth or internet hooked up to it and mine went through on the third try. Once your update is done and it restarts then go in and change the time and add your blue tooth or WIFI and start changing your settings.

Did anyone else have any issues with the pigtail for newer Tacoma's? (Jons hand from his video, thanks for modeling) Mine hooked into the provided harness fine but will not seat with the factory harness.

No, those are aucar firmware revisions based on dates. It's their format.

Can you confirm if the newest aucar came with backup cams? I'm getting some pretty mixed responses from yters. One says a single backup cam is provided with the unit. Another said that it came with two cams. And another yter said it came with none and it was an additional order/product

I was removing another aftermarket radio so I had some extra work identifying some wires and camera. As stereo installs go, yes very easy. No looms to make up, just plug and play. You do have to fish some wire to the OBD but there is lots of room back there.

My number one disappointment is the screen is totally black with polarized glasses.

I did have to reverse the hot and cooling buttons via the software. Super easy and AuCar was quick to respond.

Oh I meant the camera that came with the aucar unit. No one really has shown it or where they installed it. I'm guessing the wiring from the tailgate (if that's were you place it) would be a hard install. Sucks about the glasses.

Oh, I bought an aftermarket tailgate latch camera a few years back. Looks factory and clean. The AuCar one is a little cube like 1000 others out there. Didn’t use that one. Install looks straightforward but the wiring will never reach the tailgate. Would need to be extended.

I think more intended as a front camera than back.
