is it just me or does it seem like every Tacoma I test drive have a slightly off alignment and a vibration in the steering?

Of the 4 I've driven 3 had the issues. Now I get maybe the alignment thing is a suspension settling issue possibly. I've noticed the ones I've driven all have Hankook tires too.

One of the 4 the dealer had the technician tweak it, and I don't know what he did but he damn well nailed the alignment it was remarkable. I could take my hands off the wheel.

Now I've never owned any Hankooks but from what I know in the euro scene and what not, usually you grab a set of Hankooks if you want cheaper tires - so maybe it's a quality control issue with the tires?

I used to be a huge Yokohama fan but the past few sets of S Drives I have had have been a royal pain in the neck to balance if not impossible. 2 of them were out of round.

I ask because I see some of the horror stories online from others who battled with Toyota over this and one I read said that Toyota told him it was acceptable amount of vibration. I've never owned a car in 30 years where the MFG said some vibration was acceptable in the wheel.

Some vibration on trucks/cars are from it sitting on lot in single position, for a long time. Flat spotted tires. Plus I have noticed with Toyota's recommended tire pressure of 30 psi, there is a slight vibration. I run my factory tires at 35 psi and truck rides much smoother. Had that on my 12, and now 18. As for alignment, agree truck should be aligned again do to settling of suspension.

Try test driving an Off Road as it has a softer suspension
