Yep... get the aftermarket digital fit weathertech's. Have the dealer throw in a bed mat and if the 7 pin adapter isn't included with your tow package have them throw that in too. Also, have them remove the piece of shit tires and put on bfg a/t ko's.

-the towing package is the best $650.00 you could spend on a new Tacoma. And the 650 is msrp...so if you get a discount you are paying less proportionally. that's a lot of equiptment for under 600bux.

-the OEM bed mat is well worth the $100.00, most buy it for less (I got it for 80bux at time of truck purchase)

-the WeatherTechs are also nice. I have a double cab set (front & rear)that are only a few months old and may be for sale soon, if you have interest.

yeah I can say I wasted my money on the toyota all weather mats. Get the digi fit weathertech for sure. If you are ever off road and have dirty feet get them.

I found the toyota bed mat online for cheaper than the dealer. It is well worth it. Crap slides like crazy in the bed.

If you tow get the tow package for sure. With my scan gauge I was surprised how quick the trans heats up even with the tow package. And get a scan gauge to watch those temps.

See if you can get different tires. The oem ones suck. If I remember you can get credit for them before you drive off the lot?

thanks all for all of your replies. I put a deposit down for a DCLB TRD Sport. They didn't have my color, so they are trying to get it from another dealer and expect to have it sometime next week. I'm pumped!

Now is time to get a few accessories for it!! I think the tonneau cover is a must, and living in VT, I'm probably going to pick up a 2nd set of rims and winter tires. I'll definitely take a look at the bed mat that you suggested, especially for under $100, it would be good to avoid the slipping and sliding back there.

A few of you have mentioned the OEM tires suck. I don't need offroading tires as I'll only go offroad < 10 times/year. Any suggestions on decent summer tires for the truck since I'll also be getting winter tires? Also, should I stay at 17" rims for my winter tire set, or go up or down a size?

Last question, is there a good aftermarket tailgate lock to get that still has the backup camera? I'm bummed they don't have OEM locking tailgates, and sometimes have things in the bed that I don't want someone to get to easily. I figure with a tonneau cover and locking tailgate, it should at least deter the petty thieves.

One thing to remember is tire for 16" wheels are cheaper than 17 or 18's. I ended up getting some of the 16" Off road wheels on the classifieds and had them powder coated black.

I have the same truck that you are getting and the OEM road tires that it will come with SUCK. I had about 11K on the rears and they had less than 1/2 tread left. I remember someone on here said they got some sort of credit for the OEM tires and had the dealer put on tires he liked. Still had to pay a little more but the credit helped out with that.

If you do not want a dedicated set of off road/winter type tires then just go with one good set that will be good for everything. Like the Michelin LTX A/T2. This tire is great for snow/rain/dirt/asphalt/rock and whatever else. And its a 60K tire.
