Good ole death wobble  Jeep decided to use a bolt that was too small on the tie rod end. It woddles out the hole and this starts.

Death wobble happens to all solid axle vehicles. Just fixed death wobble on our 08 Ford.

I would never trust a Chrysler product. I had a Jeep Cherokee .. it tried to kill me more than once.

    * next to murder attempts.

issues between 60k miles and when i sold it at 75k:
    * Tire blew out while i was standing next to it.
    Front diff gears replaced
    * Rear diff gears replaced & dealer forgot to wrench the center drive line back together after the job
    * caught on fire.. wiring for the open hood light wore through and caught the main harness in the engine compartment on fire... should have let it burn.
    * Master cyl failed at 55mph had downshift and hand brake it to home. Fortunately was a short drive.
    * Pressurized fuel line leaked and sprayed gas all over the engine compartment.. didn't blow up but had to tow it home
Head gasket blew on a quick trip to the grocery.. green blood flooded out.

... so tell me about that 'trail rated thing again'...

I wont buy another jeep. My kids wont be buying a jeep.. Hell even my ex still talks shit about jeeps.

A new Wrangler, look at the hood. This happens to all solid front axle vehicles regardless of year, age, or abuse.

It's usually limited to solid front axle which have coil springs. Leaf springs and torsion bars won't let the front axle move side to side like a coil spring will and therefore require the 'tracking bar' which is supposed to keep the axle from moving side to side. And like others have said, worn suspension parts allow this to happen. I had a '79 Bronco on 38's that would get the wobble and there are fixes (probably temporary) for the wallowed out tracking bar holes but it's a real thing and scary when it unexpectedly happens!

Just an ugly truck, unless you really like the Jeep look. The only reason I would even consider down the road is it can be flat towed. I have a Motorhome and to find a vehicle that can be flat towed is difficult.

This^ After all that - it's not really a fair comparison. It's like comparing a skinny, free-range chicken to a farm raised one with a 3lb breast. Swapped out almost everything except the sheetmetal - that's no longer a Jeep, anymore than Ivan Stewart's truck was a Tacoma.

The stock, unmodified, Heeps (I hate to even think this, but it's true) are better off-roaders than the Tacos all day. When you get up to the Rubicon - it's a formidable vehicle. Problem is after they "get you anywhere" they often don't get you back. We see them on the side of the trail all the time...broken shock mounts, CEL on and in limp mode for no apparent reason, etc., etc. My daughter's new Wrangler was in the shop 8 times in just 3 years before we left it there the last time. ABS problems, limp mode problems, leaky tops - now THAT is a real pisser. All kinds of big-shit talk about "75 years of Jeep" or whatever, and in all that time, they haven't figured out how to make a convertible that doesn't leak? Miatas and Suzukis don't leak - what's the problem FCA? On paper they're awesome, and for a short time, on the trail they are too, but they'll let you down sooner or later, and that's why Toyota eats their lunch in sales worldwide. Don't fall for the hype man.

Impressive, sure. Use the same budget/ parts list on a Taco and it'll do the same thing...but it'll stay off the flat-bed ride back to the shop. ;)

    Working on that
Had several Wranglers throughout my life, and while there were occasional issues I loved them. The day they stupidly got rid of their straight six workhorse and went to a minivan v-6 was the day I swore off of Jeep’s.
    But that’s just me……YMMV

I have owned exactly one Chrysler product, a 2016 Town and Country and it will be my last. Major engine problems at 66k miles with ZERO support from the dealer. We saved money not buying a Toyota but never again.

So here is the TJ I'll be picking up later today. The red one I posted earlier fell through. She is a 2004 TJ with only 123k on the clock. It's a 5-speed and it has the 4.0 inline six. Got a smoking deal for it and was not overpriced compared to the 200k+ miles the other TJs were.

Sold: '19 TRD OR - It will always be in my heart.
Hate to school you like this, but the Jeep on the video you posted is not new at all. Look at the displays on the dashboard and the center console. The most current Wrangler has actual LCD screens and not 90's style LEDs (video was posted in 2021). Also, the odometer reads 86,801 miles, again, not new at all.

Now you say that "this happens to all front axle vehicles . . . " but on your original post you said "only in a jeep". So which is it? All front-axle vehicles or only in a Jeep? If this happens in "all" front-axle vehicles, then why don't I see 18-wheelers etc. shaking like MFs? This shake has to do with either lack of maintenance, abuse or both. And it doesn't happen when they're brand new or people would turn around and return the vehicle.

That's a JK 07-18. And when the JK first came out, death wobble was almost as bad as the 3rd gen trans threads.
