^^^^^this. Take a look at the value of those POS trucks after a couple years. Then compare it to our trucks after a couple years.

I wouldn't consider myself a toyota fan boy. I love the look and new touches with the silverados (mpgs, exterior, and interior). My father in law has been trying to get me to get one for a while, as he's retired GM. I just don't trust the reliability after seeing how wonderful my wife's trailblazer is and don't like the resale value of gms in general. It makes zero practical sense to me, though the looks and bells and whistles are appealing.

Also, it would definitely need a lift before ever coming home with me. I hate how GM doesn't build any ground clearance into them.

Tacoma has less than 1/2 inch more ground clearance than the Chebbie. Tundra does have almost an inch more than silverado 1500.
If my gm/Toyota web research is accurate

I do lean toward the tundra
    Interior/exterior looks and Toyota reliability

The ford king ranch is awesome though
The raptor is over the top, and the mpg's would be difficult to justify...along w/ the 60K price

That is if GM honors their own written warranty and doesn't cheat you out of thousands of dollars, then lie to you about it. That was my 2006 Colorado, one in a long line of GM I owned for 20 years and the last one I'll ever buy.

If I was going to buy full size I'd buy a GMC. I've owned several GMs in the past and they've always been good to me. Oldest was a 95 Suburban that I ran to 230k+ miles, newest was an 05 Avalanche that we ran to 150k. They never gave me any problems. I work for a railroad in New England that runs new Chevys in their fleet. They get worked hard over all kinds of terrain with all kinds of loads in them and they take it like champs. Lots of guys are impressed enough with what they put these trucks through that they've gone out and bought their own.

That being said I still haven't seen them do anything a Tacoma won't do ;)

I had a 2000 Silverado that I bought brand new but afteronly six months and countless problems I traded it in on a 2000 Tundra. I still have the 14 year old Tundra with 150Kmiles and it still runs great. I’m surethe Silverado was put in the crusher years ago. Hey, has anyone else noticed that almost ever GM/Chevy truck you see onthe road has a burnt out front running light? If GM can’t make a reliable light housing after building vehicles for ahundred years it makes you wonder what else they can’t do right.

Yeah they make you feel good getting a $4,000 discount that just beings it down to fairly expensive.

No Kidding! I see Burbans and Tahoes around 2010 - 2012 with one burned out all the time. Nice call.

As a whole, I think the full size truck market has come a long way in the past few years. The new Rams, Silverados/Sierras, and Tundras are all pretty solid offerings. The F-150s are good trucks, with a redesign planned in the next two years. For every person who has a GM horror story, plenty have great stories. My dad has owned 3 Yukons and 3 Sierras, and the only issue he had was replacing power window buttons on one Yukon twice.

I am already thinking full size might be the way to go for the next truck in a few years, but the one thing that absolutely kills me about the GMC/Chevy/Ram is the re-sale value. Not quite as bad on the Ford, but that's a lot of money to lose in a few months.

When will you be testing the F-150? That was the only other truck I would take over my Taco..... price kept me away.

I'm mostly a Ford/Toyota fan, and really dislike both GM and Chrysler products, but would take a 1500 Sierra or 1500 Ram over a Tundra anyday.

I think all three American trucks have come a long way! I'm anxious to see how they hold up though...
Talo, I like those wheels. You have close up of them?

I like the new F150 w/Ecoboost and the new Sierra. Not a big fan of the new Ram or Tundra but I do love my Tacoma

As someone who has owned a vehicle with those lights I can tell you that the housing had nothing to do with it.
