    you can get a 3K discount on a 31-34K Tacoma...I would hope a 5-6K discount on a 39-40K Tundra is fair.

how is not even getting out of the truck because he doesn't like the badge... An honest assessment?

sheesh. Some people are so blinded by brand loyalty that an honest assessment could never happen.

tundra and Tacoma. While most mfg's are going fully boxed, Toyota is entering the 80's of frame design. Blame Dana? Maybe. Blame Toyota? Definitely. Why Toyota is okay with a frame that allows the box to dent the back of the cab... I'll never know..

Haha I'm probably one of the least brand loyal people here. He looked at every brand, and appears to have given most a chance. I don't blame him in the least for skipping the Titan. When was the last time it was updated? 2005? At least he looked at most of them...that's a big start.

I just got a 2013 gmc 2500 hd single cab long bed. I really like it! Grant it it's just a work truck I like the power of the 6.0. Interior is pretty nice I like the gauges and radio. Nice and simple. Thing that really bothered me was when I put my plow on it the ass end was wayyy up in the air. I had to put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on it to make it look some what normal not like a drag car. Another thing I absolutely hate are the tires. They suck especially for the commercial plowing I do. Also it's very thirsty I think I get about 12 in the city

There have been a lot of response's/questions to my original post, so I thought I would clear up some of the questions.

    1. My driveway is not that steep. It was covered in leaves and wet when I tried several times to get the Silverado to back up it.

    2. My tires are half worn out Yokohama Geolander HTS (not the more aggressive AT) My buddies Tundra which I borrowed the same day has a new set of Nexson, again not AT just regular tires and cheap ones to boot.

The bottom line is that a new Silverado with new Goodyear tires should have been able to back up the drive just like the Toyota's. The Toyota's had barely any slip at all. If I hadn't let off the gas on the Chevy I would have been in my front yard. Also, the Silverado has more weight is the rear than the Tacoma, which should have given it an advantage.

I don't know enough about the two anti-slip systems as to why this happened, but the Toyota's system is clearly better in this situation.

I really don't need 4WD in South Carolina and have found the Tacoma can do most anything I need. I'm pretty sure I would need 4WD on the Silverado to feel confident in doing the same things I'm doing in my 2WD Tacoma!

I like Toyotas. After all I own one. I also like Fords and Chevys/Gmcs. I think most here are not being honest with themselves when they bash the American trucks. If the Tundra was that great it would be a market leader. Which it is not. The leaders in the full size pickup category are Fords and Chevys. They are not there by mistake. I must admit I am not a Dodge fan but that comes after a bad experience with brand new Dodge truck I owned. Every vehicle has strong points and not so great areas. Even our beloved Tacomas. After all you should read what they say about Toyotas on the Chevy site!

I've been honest. And don't see any of my criticism of any brand as bashing.

the domestic trucks lead the market because of a long history and fleet sales.

The 2nd sentence is why I bash the American trucks, at least the GM ones.

I disagree with the domestics being better because they sale more. Almost every truck owner I know won't even consider buying a Toyota. I personally think the Tundra is the best buy in full size right now. It gets comparable mpg and features yet costs around $5k less or more for comparable models, and resale is higher. In the end it's all about your taste and opinion.

personally I believe the whole "Ram" marketing is stupid.

I think Dodge could have done better.

I pulled a Silverado out of a snowdrift this weekend, seemed like a nice truck.

Those are good prices, I looked at the MSRP of the f150 KR and the loaded GMC when I shopped and was shell shocked . I hate salesman and they all got offended when I started to immediately negotiate with them . They start their payment sh-peal along with the typical sales pitches and I just didnt want to hear it. I just wanted real sales $ figures

I just ended up going with the tacoma since Toyota were always good to me in the past .

But often I do wonder what life would be like with a full size truck :p

The tundy is best for getting groceries. If you need to tow something it's pretty worthless. I have a Chev 2500HD with the duramax and the taco. They get used in completely different ways. My big diesel will never run the rubicon, and the taco will never tow my 28' trailer. It's just different markets for each truck. If I'm headed on a road trip I take the Dmax. If I'm headed to the woods I take the taco...
