Holy shit I have found my new truck. Went and drove a 2011 Access cab 4x4 V6 with the 6 speed today. I loved every second behind the wheel. That thing drives so smooth, shifts like butter and felt overall amazing.

Yep that's what Im gonna get. As soon as the insurance check comes I'm going and signing papers. You guys are right. Those things are fuckin awsome.

    That's all

Honestly if I were you. I'd check out some of the problems that the 6 speeds have and see if you truly want that truck. If I could go back I would do that, and I would likely have gone with an automatic.

I'm biased but after driving a 5sp in seattle traffic for 80 miles everyday ... I'll never do that again. Not to mention the 5sp AT with OD gets better mileage ..

Automatic (5 Speed Automatic) tows more than the 6 speed manual if that is your thing.
    Love the access cab though.
    Good Luck.

Well in all fairness, Toyota has updated the 6-speed twice .. once in 07 and once in 09. For one, they swapped in heavy duty shift forks & synchros. They also have a TSB for the throwout bearing issue now (not sure of the results though). It is a better tranny than it was in 05-06. Gas mileage can be comparable to an auto, but if you drive in a lot of traffic, or frequently over 70, you'll chew through gas faster. The sweet spot for the stick seems to be between 25-65mph.

Won't shift like butter after a few months go by.. lol Be sure to go with the TRD package instead of the standard package that way you get the locker.
