I love how you admit that you don't know anything about the subject yet you feel qualified to imply that someone else doesn't know what they are talking about. I told you how it works.

    Oh jesus Christ

Guess my engine and trany are about to blow up..

Oh wait, 230k miles on the stock clutch, great compression, no oil burning, and engine braking every single day.

Funny how I made a pretty declarative statement

Doesn't change the fact that high vacuum situations puts more wear on rings than not going into high vacuum situations at all, and running torque through gear pairs in the opposite direction puts loads in the opposite side of the normal bearing load axially and radially and changes the wear on the tooth surface.

and you chose a indefinitive statement after that to take issue with....

    wonder why that happened wit...

If you knew how to have a meaningful discussion you would have pointed out how bearing loads and wear patterns do not do what I say they do...but no, it's only personal attacks, mocking, and sarcasm for you...

You're making me hate the fact that I like b52's as well.

Ahhhhh shit.. Now you guys have me really worried.

Maybe I can replace the rings myself? I'm pretty mechanically inclined actually. I'm about to get my engineering degree and I changed my air filter once. Think I'm good to go?

Engine braking is all over the owners manual - not once did it say "do not do this".

Should we go back on thread topic?

I'm getting a little lag just because of that. If it gets any worse you might have to unignore him.

Personally I think they should have just put a diesel in it and everything would've been better :D

Basically test with whatever you listen to in your current vehicle. Make a mix CD or an iTunes playlist of songs that would push the limits of the system. Add a song you know sounds good in your current setup, and maybe one that never sounded quite right, to see if the JBL can do right with it. Add a song from a few of your favorite genres, and listen to them on the way to the dealership.

And always, always check the EQ settings. Start flat, and make subtle changes. You generally don't want the bass boosted to the maximum, like how I get every rental car I've ever driven. If you don't feel confident making the adjustments, either stay flat or try the factory presets. They're rarely good, but they're usually not horrible. They should at least give you an idea of the overall speaker clarity and handling.
