As many of you know. We can no longer get oem manual hub studs. Most companies out there sell FJ studs and we have made due with those. I personally have sheared many of those as they to long and don’t allow cones to seat hub properly. I know ORS offers studs that are closer to oem. Their threaded sections are still to long to allow our hubs to be seated properly.

Frustrated with this I have spent the week making my own studs. These are grade 8.8 hardened steel in black oxide just like OEM.

I can also make these in yellow plated zinc like ARPs but they’ll still be 8.8 steel so same strength as the black oxide.

is there community interest in purchasing these studs?

if so I will begin making a stash to have on hand for folks.

my studs are in left of photos. Oem studs on right of each photo

Yes! I would buy a couple of sets depending on price.

FWIW, Part# ORS-HB115 from ORS is what I used. Encountered no issues with seating. At the time I ordered, they were not listed anywhere on their site and I had to speak with them directly to place the order. Not sure if that has changed.

ORS response to me when asked about oem spec comparison of their product…

“Nobody makes a stud exactly the same as the Toyota ones but these are the closest we've found.

they are offering studs with equal threaded section on each side and their unthreaded section is longer than oem. Not saying the won’t work. Just seeing if the community is interested in something that matches oem

Oem Tacoma studs have a short threaded and long threaded side to allow to come washer to properly center the hub.

FJ or ORS studs with their longer threaded section means to cone washer is sitting on threads that will shear as friction and vibrations occur.

Incorrect overall lengths. Incorrect thread section lengths, incorrect unthreaded shaft

edit: after searching the site above these match our specs on both threaded and unthreaded area.

Thanks for posting that site. They are probably the best way to go… decent prices too

There metric product selection is the most extensive I've ever found. I've done alot of business with them.

i appreciate you sharing with us. Too bad they don’t have cone washes. Otherwise you can get all hardware needed from them. I will order from them next time I’m in need
