Texans debate allowing concealed guns on campus

Texas already lets lawmakers bring guns into the Capitol. And the governor sometimes jogs with a loaded pistol. But should people be allowed to carry concealed weapons onto college campuses? Gun advocates argue that doing so could help put a quick end to threats like the one posed by a University of Texas student who fired several rounds from an assault rifle Tuesday before killing himself.

I have had two that went or are still going to college here in Texas. My son will not carry a gun(he thinks he would do something stupid with it ) but my dauther does not go too many places without one. My dauther is still in college and yes she has been taught how to use it.

if i was in Texas i would carry on campus....the right to bear arms coumes from our Creator and is not given by government. governments only purpose is to protect my civil rights first and foremost...if its failing in that regard its supposed to be abolished. Government can not take what it never gave.

what the texas state constituion says:
Texas has the power to regulate the wearing(regulate doesnt mean to ban anything ie: they can allow only open carry or in the current case only concealed carry)

In Montana with or without a CWP you can not take any fire arm into ANY SCHOOL.
Only if you carry a Badge can you do so.

that might be what Montana law says but the 2nd amendment over rides all...only time will tell if the SCOTUS sees it that way....

according to OpenCarry.org college carry is legal in Montana as we speak....k-12 might be a different story

Mostly stock for now, I have added a cb radio, various cheap mods and I plan on adding aftermarket wheels and other items in the future.
    Sounds good to me.

as i see it, if its a state school then it sits on state land, if you can carry on the rest of the state land then why not a state school. however private schools should be allowed to decide for themselves

I'm sure the criminals are packing, so why not allow citizens to pack as well. Simple really......

the Creator...THE creator? the big guy? hard to argue with the dude that created J. Lo...

i graduated from a texas state school. i went 8 years (i joke) and never needed a weapon. there were a few lectures that made me wish i could eat a bullet..but you never know. i see no reason if it was legal why they shouldnt be allowed to carry.

yes because a private school is just that..private and they can make their own rules controlling their property they are not the government so they are not bound by the bill of rights. But the state on the other hand can not....they are supposed to protect civil rights or it is our duty to abolish it or alter it...

so if a school state school is banning guns then they are violating the students Unalienable rights...and is using unjust powers that the people have not consented to
