If I wasn't getting ready for a vacation I'd ride the bike up there and help you with it. It really isn't that difficult to replace the idler. Since you already cut the belt you have to put a new belt on also which is always a good practice when replacing an idler pulley.

I wonder if you got mud in it from all the hard core rock crawling you do? j/k fucker

I have no doubts that it went bad from all the times I romped it through the mud.

And its just one 14mm bolt. Paying a Guy to do it so I can watch and learn how to do The belt also. Only $150

When you see how easy it really is you better slap yourself in the face. I'd rather pay someone to flush my radiator than change the idler. It is on par with changing the brakes. So I'll hop on.

Do you just unscrew that bolt and put the new I've on?

Only part I'm unsure of is the belt...

Yes; you remove the old belt (which you have already done) and unscrew that bolt, swap the bad idler for the good idler, put bolt back in, put belt back on. If you want I'll send you a pic of my belt routing after the sun comes up. Main thing to remember is the ribbed side of the belt goes against pulleys with tracks and the back of the belt goes against smooth pulleys. You will need socket/rachet to pull the idler into an "up" position so you can route the belt under it. Then it is done.

You and Blake put the locker in your truck - you can do an idler pulley swap.

Speaking of the belt. I have yet to see a diagram of the routing on my truck. Every other vehicle I've had, had a picture on the underside of the hood.. Maybe in the manual?
