Thanks; one question though - how would the officer know if I have or have not taken the course? Is that on the state record?

Maybe she is used to handling a big gun.

    We'll go with "derp lite".

First pull down, select Transportation Code...

Its not that hard to get your tax stamp.
    http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/form4.html

get your form 4. get some passport photos, get a fingerprint card, write a check for $200, get form 4 signed by CLEO (or you can go a Trust route), then send everything into the ATF. Wait 6-8 months. Have fun!

For full auto the gun must be made before 1986.

    http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/national-firearms-act-firearms.html

There are also not really any long gun laws in TX. you could actualy walk around town with a rifle on your back if you wish. You will probably get harrased by the cops but its not illegal.

Colorado was a blast man. It would be sick to take a group up that way and hit a bunch of trails. Went for a week and didn't want to come back. We even managed to not be on fire!

Nice. I had a good time when I went with my wife's family last year. Truck was happy to let loose. I'd have to take some 2wd friendly trails :D

This guy I know from work is a lawyer and he does a ton of gun trusts so people can have silencers, full auto, etc.
