I am guessing you had to drill this out? How did you go about reattaching it?

 

hopefully they do. its sad that with over 50 years of baseball for this town that they literally just flushed this team down the toilet. i hope this next guy from ok can build this team up. need something to happen and this town would go to games if they new that was the case. otherwise why care about a team that doesn't care for itself

 

With 1/2" screws

 

We used a knife to cut out the melt points. A lot safer than using a drill, as you still have some plastic for the screw to hold onto.

It really has been sad what the Astros have become. Hopefully next year the games will help boost attendance a decent enough amount that they will be able to start affording better players or at least bring up some better talent from the Minors. Most of the AL teams have really strong followings and they will be new to the Houston area for the most part. I know even during the Rangers bad years they sold out when the Yankees or Boston came to town.

whats the deal with Hamilton and his drug abuse. is he back on the wagon and doing well

 

Honestly I don't really care if he is on or off the drugs; I just want him to make contact with the ball and round the bases. He blamed his last slump on trying to quit snuff. Personally I think it is stupid to mess with your head like that in the middle of the season. The mid-season stretch is always the hardest stretch and to do something like that is dumb in my opinion.

After seeing the stats on the game today though they really did warm up against the Blue Jays.

Yeah, kind of what I was thinking. I think he has something going on in his head; but I doubt it is drug related, probably more ego than anything else. He was walking around pretty heavy when he homered 4 times in that one game talking about big contracts; I bet half the teams wouldn't talk to him right now with the way he has been playing the last couple of months.

 

its a shame he is a hell of an athlete. i dont care for your team cause the dallas houston rivalry but i do appreciate good sport performance and teams. ya'll have had some good fun the last couple of years.

 

I'm hoping he will pull his head out of his ass pretty soon; even if he doesn't we are still in pretty good shape with the rest of the ball club. I'm looking forward to the I-45 matches. I'm sure both cities will really enjoy the fans coming too.

 

it should be good i know the radio will talk about the fan bases for days.

 

Either way Houston can't do much worse than it has in the NL. Sorry to say it but maybe a change of competition is what they need.

I'm feeling that way too personally. He is great when he is great and he sucks the rest of the time. He really doesn't have enough "decent" time to make paying the money for those "great" games worth it. I say we let another team tie up a decent percent of their salary cap in him.

Totally agree, the guy can't stay healthy enough to play more than 140+/- games and then the off the field potential problems that come along with him, the accountability partner etc. I can't see the team committing the years and $$$ that he wants when there are other things that need addressed.


With that said I think the dodgers go out and give him the years and money he wants to make a big splash with their new ownership.
