Hey guys, I'm relaying a distress call for a friend of mine and fellow TW member who is a Veteran on vacation in El Paso, and he's in need of some help.

He was getting ready to head back to Southern Cali from his road trip to El Paso, and one of his wheel bearings have gone bad, making all kinds of strange noises. He is not comfortably driving 12 hours home with it the way it is, but needs to be on his way soon.

He has a 2009 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4. Member name is BeeRadd. If ANYBODY knows of some way to help, replace the bearing or hub assembly, PLEASE PM ME ASAP. He is with his brother and girlfriend, and they are stuck for the time being with no shops open this late on Sunday, and tomorrow is Veteren's Day.

Thanks TW. I know you guys always come through for your fellow members.

I saw that post and thought someone was stuck and needed to be pulled out. Then I read it and realized no way I can help being 9 hours away.

Thanks for the help and PM's guys. I think I just located a hub for him at a local autozone, and he seems to have a friend with a garage to install it. I'll be sure to update you guys as soon as I hear back from him.

Ok so Brad just called, sounds like Autozone only had the bearing assembly, which needs to be pressed onto his trucks hub, after removing the bad bearing.

Can anybody recommend a shop in El Paso that has a bearing press, and charges reasonable labor rates? I'll cross-post in the El Paso thread as well.

    Thanks again.

So I drove to mc Kinney tx from Houston yesterday. Hitting 90 all the way up there. Made it in 3.5 hours! Picked up some parts and headed back to Houston. On the way back I spotted a black? Tacoma 6 inch lift, 8k hid fog and head lights, with a roof rack of some sort. Couldnt really see since it was dark. About 7 pm last night on 75 going north. Just thought they might be a member on here.

Hey I have a question for all you guys. Does anyone know of anyplace that you can drive into and camp? By this I mean off the beaten path (not to off I'm only 2 wheel drive) not a real camping site? I would like to find a place, and can't seem to find any places that aren't already camping grounds of some sort or the other. Kind of like primitive camping where you hike in and are alone, but I'd rather drive in.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I am gonna secure my subs to the back wall of my truck and run the wires all nice and neat. Now that I Know how easy it is to take it out, I am now considering replacing the carpet and placing sound deading material down. I have two days off so I am sure to accomplish something, until then, I have a very comfortable tacoma bench sitting in my living room.
