    X2 on the gas going back down. The current price for a barrel if oil is what $100-$110? Last time they were that price gas was $2.50 a gallon. The price of oil has gone back down and the only reason gas is going up is because we were told gas prices were going to go up and they realized they could make some serious money now that oil prices dropped.

    Eventually it will all even out just like it did last time

    My daily commute is nothing. 5 miles to work. 5 miles back. But to work, home for lunch, back to work and then home at the end of the day is 20 miles of in town driving. Then any chasing around I have to do after work. 18 MPG and roughly 2-3 fill ups per month gets costly.

    I wish I got 18mpg. I'm currently getting 14. I have to fill up every week. And this is on a high school budget. And yes I have to pay for all my own gas

    Yeah. It's currently costing me $150/month for gas for 2 fill ups. When I got the truck it was $40 to fill up. When it goes up more...$200/month for gas to barely put any miles on it. Right now my focus is to GTFO of these apartments and the truck is killing my house fund just on gas consumption.

    If it is causing you to not be able to put into your home savings or even possibly not pay other bills, get rid of it. However, if it is just making things tight on you, but you still meet your obligations, than stick with it. I know lots of people who have down graded and are now kicking their own asses (actually at the current moment $4/gallon they are thinking they are geniuses), but they bitch all the time about getting rid of their ride when gas fluctuated in the past.

    As bad as it sounds, you have to have priorities (you set em) and stick with em. The truck is great, but if a house is what you need now, it is safe to say Toyota's will be around forever. I would absolutely hate it, but if we were ever in financial turmoil, the truck would be the first to go.
