Tires look fine IMO. How do they perform? Much more important question.

I open the cream ale kit instead of the pale ale kit. :)

I'm still doing partial mash kits. I think the big difference is the grains and amount of hops. The cream ale has one ounce of hops at 60 mins. Don't pale ales have two hops?

I would not doubt this. That is how you get the right stance.

    KCCO?

The cream ale became a comedy of errors. I'll explain in the morning.

Like Keith said, there is a substantial amount of douche baggery, but 6th street is a great place to go to get balls to the wall. Not a good good place to relax and enjoy a good drink. We have a group of about 40 that meets every year to float the river; we meet in Austin the night before on 6th and it is a hell of a time. To sum it up, its a good experience, but not an everyday place.

Everything went pretty smooth until I had to stir in the extract and add the hops. We were expecting some friends over for dinner so I needed to get this done asap. (Mistake 1 - brewing on a tight schedule) I added the hops, set the timer, and poured another beer. About twenty minutes into it I wanted to see what my gravity for the beer was (curiosity) and it read zero. I started trying to figure out why it was zero until I saw the full bottle of extract sitting on top of the ice chest. So I quickly poured/stirred the extract into the hot liquor (hot water) and reset my timer. *my first two brews went with no problems so I was due for something*

As I'm getting the tailgate of my truck ready to by my cooling stand it starts to mist/drizzle a little. So I had to quickly come up with a Plan B inside the garage. Once I started to chill the wort my 1/2" valve out of the tank clogged. I have never had that happen before (or heard of it) so I had to go with a Plan C of shaking/swirling the keggle and attempting to get it to flow. I ended up getting the five gallons (roughly) but had to go straight to the carboy with it.

After the chilled wort sat outside for five hours it was finally down to temp. I pitched the yeast and went to bed around 1am. This morning I have some bubbling and a little bit of krauzen on top so I'm hoping it all turns out okay.

But I still have to find out why the valve clogged up and cleanup from the brewing yesterday.
