882's and 5100's will give me 2" lift you think? 883 be too much lift? And my bank account shows I just got paid so I will let the saving begin! I'll let you known as the time gets closer, I will need to OK this with momma since I'm still living under her roof!

Edit: the 883s have a 20mm less free height than the 882s. Does that mean it would lift it less?

    From another thread:

"If I could do it again I'd say go 882 if you have no extra weight up front. The 883s are shorter but the heavier spring rate will hold a heavy bumper and or winch well."

Thinking this is what I want. Correct? Sorry I have so many questions. I'm not very knowledgeable about this!

Depends on spring rates. I really don't know the specifics like that when it comes to first gens. Blake might though. He just ordered a bunch of OME goodies.

    Shackle rides better.

AAL makes for a stiff ride, but is easier.

Which will gave actual performance gains on or off road? Will either effect payload?

aal will give you a better payload capabilities(sacrificing how soft your truck rides).

Truth be told... I wish i went with shackles on my truck. aal looks better on paper considering the payload gains and whatnot. But my big ass truck rides like im getting paddled in the ass by a 2x4 lol. And when i articulate thru hilly terrain im constantly 3 wheeling it

Maybe our trucks are different by design or something.
I just clamped it and put the aal between the leafs and the overload

it took me like 45 min to do both sides.

Im not saying shackles are hard, just that there is more work required(for me anyway lol).

On my truck specifically, id have to do some welding to move my exhaust/hangers

Shackles will be better for off road. Combined with longer shocks you will get more travel out of the rear suspension. More flex

    Get both. Lol.

If all you want to do is make it better offroad, and don't ever use your truck to towing or putting heavy loads in it get the shackles. They will ride better on the road too. But remember you'd have to get longer shocks also to get more travel

Haven't measured. Probably 2" over stock length. Maybe 10's. Not sure what stock size is.

I think you can fit 12"ers. I'll check to see what my 5125's are, but I'm thinking 12".
