    I'll be doing the rear and allignment out in Sunnyvale near Mesquite so distance is a big factor here. I really appreciate all the help you guys are offering me!! :thumbsup:

    Im right off 20 so it should be a straight shot for you. No worries if the front is higher. You wont see any of the people from the road ever again. Just get it aligned around here before you head home but 25 miles or so is not going to be a big deal out of alignment.

    Anyone want to help install an Ironman 3" lift tomorrow (Saturday)? I've got the front preassembled, and I'm not messing with UCAs yet. The rear is an AAL rather than the full leaf pack. I should have most, if not all, of the tools needed. The only thing I don't have is a tie rod end puller.     There the same, getting the control arms spread apart to fit the longer assy in is the hard part. Probaly need to mark alignment cams because you will probaly have to loosen one or both up.

    I always drop the lower control arm. Mark the cams to get it close and then slide the coil overs up from the bottom. Makes it much easier!

    That'd be nice if that isn't necessary.

    I'll be heading up to NTB to do an alignment as soon as we're done. NTB is about 5 miles from my house.

    This is what you do. Very easy. No messing with the tie rods.

    Some have mentioned the use of a bottle jack but i dont remember for what exactley but involved not dropping the LCA.

    And dropping the control arm will keep your alignment much closer than pulling apart the tie rods.

    It is possible to do it with out dropping the LCA but it is not quicker and is a bigger PITA.

    Mark the cams. Unbolt the two knuckles. Lightly loosen the bolts to the arm. Then remove the bolt holding the bottom of the coil over. That's it. Very simple.

    Homebrew bumpers and sliders, 5100s & Eibachs up front and mutt leaf pack out back, 285s & Wheelers type B, sway bar deleted. Wife's ride: 01 4Runner 4wd sport. Stock with exception of TRD taco coils, and shift kit.
    FWIW just did the shocks/coils on my taco. On first gens if you have a top plate spacer I have not found a better way to install except to just drop the LCA. Otherwise you can leave everything connected and either use a bottle jack or pry bar to get the LCA down the last little bit to get the coil/shock assembly in.
